Here you have many opinions. The only one that counts is yours. Do what you think is best for you. I'll leave you with some food for thought. "DO NOT LET ANY PILOT OR UNION DICTATE WHATS BEST FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY".
This is your dream, and your career.

Dude Pan Am or maybe eastern would have been my ideal choice.Reality is a harsh mistress. At a certain point it makes sense to abandon the destination and really consider an alternate!

Dude, I love your screen name! Classic!

LOL! Why don't you throw in some Hitler and Stalin references while you're at it? I heard Satan himself supports the RJDC just to consume the Delta pilots' souls.

I see Dan let you out from under his desk! Must get tiring not getting any sunlight under there!

Kool-Aid is Kool-Aid, no matter who is serving it. Try some original thoughts once in a while rather than just regurgitating what ALPA tells you.

LMOA! What flavor are you drinking these days?? ALPA doesn't need to tell me anything.....All the facts against you girls comes right off your own website.

I don't think comair will strike. i think they will put as much pressure on management as possible but on the eleventh hour they will not strike. there are enough people there that just can't afford to go to work for another company for 19 dollars an hour on reserve with tues and thurs off every week swingin gear for a 23 year old with 2500tt. too risky to strike

Gawd that was depressing:crying:

Seriously? That's the level of maturity you can counter with?

<sarcasm>I just don't understand what would make DCI pilots think the mainline pilots are trying to screw them</sarcasm>.

I have to lower myself to the level I'm dealing with!

A lawsuit started by one of cmr's own by the name of dan ford.

The supporting of their 89 day strike, which was rewarded to our furloughess by denying them employment while they were down and out.

I could go on, but those 2 reasons are reason enough. I don't wish bad things on you, I just won't ( neither will several thousand other guys) ever support you!

The level of his maturity is the fact that he's a p.o.s. delta pri#k. I was a Comair guy and now flying corporate. I give those delta di#ks the finger every chance I get.

The only finger you're waving is from the lav truck sport!
I see by your avatar, you're back at home where you belong. So sorry that cmr fired you, but at least you are back flight instructing at the local airport, and can tell all those high school chicks how you used to fly the "big metal."

Re: New Hire at Comair, if a strike happens?

If you are on probation, you will get a letter from the company firing your a$$...Don't listen to the "we understand if you are first year" crap that people are telling you. You do not show up, even using the excuse that there are no captains.

I hear ya but they may or may not get a letter of termination. If they don't, the MEC has a decision to make.

As a practical matter, what part of the new TA will you be willing to give up to get those hostages back - payrates, work rules, benefits or a combination thereof?

plunger, don't fret about any of this. Concentrate on learning the airplane.

You are assuming those people will be forced to take a job "swingin gear for a 23 year old with 2500tt". In fact, I see very few Captains at Comair doing that in the future...most who are actively looking are finding better options elsewhere (there is life outside the regional segment of the industry).

There are also enough First Officers there who are capable of earning more than $32,000 after their fourth year of employment, with no upgrade in sight, doing nearly anything else.

There are other ways to make more money than to work for Comair under the future Delta and Comair "management" envision.

I agree the likelihood a strike will occur is low, however, pilots at Comair are individually voting to withdraw their service from Comair, with their feet...something no judge has the power to stop.

Delta is likely moving some of Comair's fleet to Skywest because Comair can't staff the aircraft they currently have, and cannot get enough quality applicants capable of passing the training program to agree to work there. They've already reduced their minimums to 600 & 1 out of desperation.

Perhaps we're seeing the twilight of Comair's existence. The aviation industry is not what it was, and I, for one, won't miss participating in the game as a professional when the sun sets on Comair's legacy.

737...

How's that pension doing? Hmm...wonder where you're going to be on the list at USAIR. Yea, you've got a much better deal. You name the time and place jackazz and I'll see you there.

YAWN!! Another internet tough guy.....I'm shaking in my boots.....
Back to the lav truck unemployment boy!

Or beceause they have a lower pay-scale.

Well if you can't even spell Hawaiian it's a safe bet you are not very informed, but out of curosity, what makes you lump Hawaiian in with Delta or Mesaba's situation?

Curosity???

I guess we all spell things wrong from time to time.

Dave

P.S. If you are going to point out someone's bad spelling, make sure you spell everything right. At least in the same post.

Touche'!
I really didn't mind the spelling and I'm not attacking, just curious how someone appears to think Hawaiian got hosed in BK court. We actually came out very well, AQ got hammered, not HAL.

My mistake. Sorry about that. I got them mixed up.

What would happen to a new hire in training if a strike were to commence?? Do you join the picket line while on probation?? Would the company fire You if you did so?
What would the Union advise in this situation?

A strike can be a dynamic situation, if you don't know the CMR MEC code-a-phone number or strike hot line number, find out what it is and call them. The CMR Strike Committee is your single best source for information.

just go to skyw, we have no alpa, are paid well, and get along with mngt!!
enjoy!

or go somewhere else and be bitter!

It's like being in prison. You can stand up for yourself and get beat down (Comair) or bend over and enjoy it (Skywest).

Go away 737!

Go back to your double breasted posts and stay off of ours 737!

You still haven't figured out that if Comair makes more, you Deltoids will make more? We are fighting for our contract and our pay so that other DCI F*ers can then step in and take our flying... And 737, you are mad at Comair? Try removing the pickle from your as* and maybe you will come up with a funny response other than your "lav cart" response... It wasn't that funny the first time...

You have let management paint the proud widget on the side of Free & Dumb's Dash 8s! "Oh how far you have come!"
