Same recollection of what, exactly? You put your faith in gossip, inststead of the written records of something you were not a witness to?

Politics at the BOD don't make it into "written records." Can you show me somewhere on paper the written proof of the politics that went on at the 2006 BOD that ended up getting Prater elected? I know what happened because I was there, but you won't see it anywhere on paper. The meeting minutes don't include the political minutiae. Meeting minutes are only required to include what actions were actually taken by the body. You may not find anywhere on paper that Dan and his buddies were quite vocal about demanding DOH if the PID was successful, but that doesn't mean that it didn't take place. Personally, I trust my sources.

And even if a rediculous demand was made (which it wasn't) so what? As is, the union decided to turn away from its own Constitution and Bylaws, rejected the applicants' petition and locked them out of negotiations while working out a deal with management to outsource half of Delta's flying. Obviously your allegation had no effect anyway.
The EC considered the PID request and denied it based on constitutional grounds. The EC (including the regional members) didn't feel that the PID met the requirements set forth in the C & BLs. Pretty simple, really.

What is difficult to understand is why people like you, who complain about the portfolio concept, whipsaw, outsourcing, aircraft replacement and competitive bidding attack those who offer a solution.
None of them have actually offered a solution. They've offered a PID that didn't meet the standards required, and when that didn't go their way, they filed a lawsuit that doesn't "solve" anything. I see no solutions, only vendettas.

I don't have any control over them and their lawsuit has not control over me.

You support their organization, and you defend their lawsuit. Don't be surprised to be lumped in with them because of that.

Just curious, why isn't there an ALPA push at AirTran? Seems like the stars would be lining up over there.

The pilot group here is much more concerned with getting a good TA at this point. After that, anything's possible. Personally, I think you'll see ALPA at AirTran within the next couple of years.

I was there and to quote Dan, "by paycheck, or equipment type, it works out to be a staple." But you don't have to believe me, look at merger policy and histories of similar events. Pan Am Express ATR drivers went to the bottom. Now they are at the top of the DAL list, if any of them did not take the early retirement.

But even if true (which it is not), so what? I can say I want to win the lottery. Don't you? So what? Are other players vindictive because we say we want to win?

What made the issues involved in the 2000 BOD different from a documentation stand point is that the Delta MEC was trying to raise support for the contract 2000 effort and they published a lot. Mike Pinho and Chuck Giambusso wanted to get the Delta pilots fired up and heck, they succeeded. We are still arguing today while they enjoy retirement.

What? My MEC both encouraged the hiring of Delta pilots and there was a Bid Restricted Second Officer SLOA that would have allowed concurrent seniority with Delta / ASA.
Nice attempt at spin....My reply was to the response that comair pilots are being hired at Delta! Beisdes, those numbers are VERY small!

Boeing has a chance to really put the hurt on Airbus if they would get a 737/319,320,321 replacement on line. Airbus could not catch Boeing if Boeing decided to push that airplane. Airbus would be stuck with an expensive (and sub-obtimal for its wing design) A380 a hobbled together A350 and out of date aircraft for the huge sales that will follow a 737/A320 derivative replacement.
I agree....Although the Airbus supporters would disagree.

However, according to friends who just got back from Paris there is not a compelling engine for a 100 seater out there yet. But they think Boeing should get the 100 seater out there instead of sitting back fat dumb and happy on 737NG sales.
According to the NYC CP, Boeing is in the primitave stages of the 787 "lite" as a "100 seater" replacement because of the non existance of 737-600 sales.
BTW, where did you get hired, and congrats.....Looks like there's not a very good future at ASA!

Could it be that the EC considered a threat from Delta to leave ALPA? I will be the first to admit I have no proof, but that is what the insiders tell me happened.

Vendetta's - could you mean like my commenting on a NWA / DAL merger and getting attacked for several pages....

A DL/NW merger is NOT in the works, both companies have stated they want to be stand alone companies. Besides, why would EITHER company want to merge, when both spent nearly 1 1/2 years in BK to clean up their debt?! All a merger would do is create a bigger airline with even bigger debt, ergo mrs. dougie parker!

Thank you. Got hired at three operations, picked the one I think I will enjoy the most. Not saying where yet. Aviation is a small world you have read the posts on this board. Not everyone keeps their home life and work life separated. Eight or nine years ago someone identified me from a post on the ALPA National board and tried to make problems with the IRS. Some people take this stuff on web boards way too seriously.....

Completely agreed.

!

Well lets see......You badgered our furloughees for 5....No make that 6 years with your rjdc BS and rhetoric! I'd say you got about 4-5 more years of getting it back! Unless you make a public apology for being a complete ass for the past several years and apologize for blaming everything from your pass privileges to your lack of career progression on the DL pilot group (which you now want to be one of)!

Yeah, what he said...

You can be a hater on these forums of this pilot group......but being a hypocrite makes it much, much worse........

I do wish you luck gettting on over here, but when someone else hires you, I know how you'll turn your tide against us again.......

Please don't be THAT guy!!!

All kidding aside.....IRS, Moms and ugly stepchildren are off-limits......

Did you get it straightened out?? Just curious.....

I've never heard anyone mention that supposed threat except on this message board. I think it's urban legend, but you never know.

Pcl-128 aka R.M. aka Lear70?

LOL! Rich is going to get a good laugh out of that one! :)

Nope, not the same guy. I've known him for a while, but he's been at AirTran for a little while and I'm just a newbie.
