Which fleets did most of these pilots jump to? I hear some of the PICs were pretty senior. I guess the CJ3 would be a logical jump if you enjoyed the CJ1 and the Pro Line 21 system...

They pretty much split between the CJ3 and the sovereign. I think one went to the XL. Some guys were pretty senior but not compared to the sovereign pilots. With us now bidding for vacations and schedules some of these guys/gals wanted to remain as close to the top of the castle as possible.
 
CJ1 doesnt have the Proline 21. It is a whole different animal

Actually the original poster was correct. CJ1 is the Collins Proline 21 system. The CJ3 is the whole different animal.
 
I know a guy at CS that was raped on the MARTA...when the attackers found out he was a pilot, they were horrified because of the disease's they might have caught...
 
In the military have you ever been given 14 minutes to plan, load, and launch your aircraft? I doubt it.

This is not an attack on you or flight dispatchers. Sorry if you took it that way. Quick turns, quick launches, ect. are the norm in alot of military scenarios. When it is not mission essential with a high priority then we do everything we are supposed to do in a timely but unrushed manner. When you expedite in these situations is when you significantly increase the risk unless it is something you practice....like alot do in the military. So to answer your question, yes.

I think you missed my original point. It was this. I LIKE being a pilot. That means flight planning, getting my clearances, checking weather, planning routes around it, ect.. That is what we are paid for. IF they have other people do that for you in the fractional world because the legs are so close to each other, fine. I can definetly live with that. That is certainly something I have not seen anyone in the 135 and 91 world have a problem with at our airfield to date. They all do this them selves and do not have the support that you describe.

In your example you made it sound like you allowed the mission to push you into taking a unsafe approach to the mission planning and execution? Is that the norm in the fractional world? If you have dispatchers helping you, why would they not allow you more time to execute that mission after landing...ie, time to refuel, check weather, file, brief packs, let the paxs know the situation and they may be delayed because of it, ect? If I ever felt rushed to the point of being unsafe, I would slow back and reconsider the potential end result.

Anyways, I appreciate your professional approach to this discussion. I respect your opinion and the work you and the dispatchers do. I apologize if that was not conveyed in my attempt to make my point. Sometimes I am not a very good communicator.

Your kidding right? Again you need to do your homework. Most (if not all) dispatchers just came from somewhere other than aviation. You need to really talk to pilots at each of the fractionals and hear their stories.
