Class Drop

beam_d said:
Fellas,
Sorry to rehijack the thread, it seems like most FedEx guys on the board agree with not flying extra.
Anyone know what the aircraft/seat breakdown for the Feb 28th class was? There were some rumors earlier that 727 FO slots would not be offered after Feb. Can anyone elaborate? I start class the 21st of Mar and am trying to keep tabs on what's coming down the pike.

Thanks

From a very good source regarding the 21st:

More seats offered than class size due to several reasons.....

First, the actual drop:

14 727 S/O
6 DC-10 S/O
10 727 F/O
2 A-300 F/O -- Subic

There were 2 727 F/O positions and 3 Subics that rolled over to the class on the 28th. There rest to the back.

*Rumor* is that there will be more DC-10 S/Os in the future. As for 727 F/Os, it will depend upon training --- the new hire classes from last fall and Jan already have training slots for the F/O position.

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

Shifting focus again. Anyone at the meeting last night. I am sure we will get something in the message line or e-mail. But just curious as to the tone or the meeting and if anything new was said. I am sure they can't talk much about negotiations. Anyone, pleas feel free to pm if you don't feel it appropriate for the message board.

We all stop pointing fingers at each other and press on. If the union comes out and states no more draft/volunteer, I think the group will come together. Until that happens, guys will fly when they want, despite our opinions.

I personally think the company has gotten themselves in a manning pickle. If the group stopped flying draft/volunteer, there would be a LOT of packages left at ramps and lots of angry costumers. True, the company should have been hiring all along, but that is not the FedEx way.
