SkyWest has no commuter clause.

however, in my experience, making the same efforts to get to work as outlined in the above clauses will either a: get you to work on time or b: when communicated to CS what you have been doing to try to get there will allow you to work it out with them. They positive spaced me twice to get to work when my commute just wasn't working out.

also, as mentioned, you can say 'I'm sick.' if you're making an honest effort to get to work, however, I think this would happen rarely.

Obviously, anything not in writing can be changed at a moment's notice! Enjoy it while you have it!

Commute is optional at all companies and no you do not get paid if you do not show up for work. It is your option to live in another state, or go work somewhere close to home. Time to grow up!

Well it is better than what you have now, is all I was saying. Progress was made. I was in DFW too and hate ATL, but I moved.

It sounds like they treat everyone differently as opposed to uniformly. That is what the commuter clause in a BINDING CONTRACT gives you. The peace of mind that if you follow it, the company is NOT able to discipline you. None of this calling and explaining yourself to see if you can get out of a missed trip or have to use up your sick time.

Sorry Scarlet, but the line "you choose to commute" doesn't hold water around here anymore. In the past 3 years a pilot could have been based in DFW/SLC/LAX/ATL. Try moving a family around like that. Many pilots commute. We need to be protected in case we don't make it to work. I don't understand why limit how many times you can use it. If I can't make it to work, you can either pay me for it with a sick call, or deduct it from my pay with a commuter policy call....whats up.

Also, at another company I worked for, using the commuter policy was no walk in the park. If you use it, skeds takes over and tells you what flight your going to try next. Its not like they let you go home for the week. Your stuck at the airport trying to make it to work, and not getting paid.

It should be from any airport, anywhere. Thats what the majors get, and thats what we had at ACA. So it's not exactly industry leading.

Just another reason to vote NO! And I'm not even a commuter, but we should all be protected when I decide to use my pass benefits. Its that or a sick call....your choice mgmt.

Lets see I was based in DFW and LAx and ATL so no you are wrong and I commuted for NINE years to EWR for CAL, so yes I know a little about commuting!!

B.T. I hated EWR so I moved to ATL which had the most flights to EWR and was better weather in the winter. Which meant I made a choice, not the companies choice but mine. I am adult, and I can make those choices. And you have to make yours.

I would rather get paid for the first day and then pick the trip up later.

"I don't understand why limit how many times you can use it."-B.T. No one would come to work then.

Vote no and wait another 2 years and to get that commuter clause so you can come to work when you want and lose 25 thousand dollars=SMART
