Not saying the company would use j/s to get you to your assignment, just saying that if after you have J/S for awhile, company says lets require all new pilots to live in a major airline hub, or all, that way we can begin on day one with a one leg flight to assignment. When you say, but I live in peoria, they say, too bad, jumpseat. That is in essence how the 121 world works now!
Luv

Yes, but the airlines have hubs, we do not.

Maybe around 2012(is it 2016 now?),when are contract is up, but not likely. And there is no way they could just force people to show up unless we let it happen.

But we are off topic again, this is not about jumpseating, just cass.

Flopgut I'm glad to see you decided not to follow through with your promise to leave this thread. Your posts are always enlightening and helpful.

The pilots (or most pilots) at NJ are not interested in jumpseating privileges, we have plenty of miles to get us where we want to go.

Not to be a loser, but commuting is painful enough. Another 5000 potential j/s er's with no reciprocating policy doesn't sound too interesting either.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! NETJETS DOES NOT WANT ACCESS TO THE JUMPSEAT!!!!!!!

How many times do we have to say it? This is about official vetting by the TSA so that they STOP WASTING THEIR TIME double screening crewmembers that have been background checked repeatedly and POSE NO SECURITY THREAT to the system.
