I am considering applying at Netjets and gamble that there will be a new contract soon that will improve the pay and QOL. Do they make you sign a training contract????? Thanks.

With a contract, if ANYTHING changes (work rules, etc) after you sign it, it is null and void !!

what then?

What happens then? New contract written up & signed?

Id say you should plan on having a training contract both before and after any new CBA is signed. The company still believes its necessary and the union isn't going to spend any negotiating money on getting rid of it.

The current training contract is two years. You pay %100 of the costs of you leave in your first year and %50 in the second year. And YES, they do come after you if you leave. I'm a witness in a friend court case after he left at the one year mark.

Not sure of the amounts for training other than the X. The X is $20,000.

To add to the previous response, the cost (or penalty) of the training contract varies by fleet. The Ultra is the cheapest (around $16-17K, IIRC) while the X and the Falcon are the priciest, in the mid $20K range (again, IIRC). Those costs were from last fall.
