so you're the one pilot going on crewops

Section 13.2(b)(i) of the new contract

First sentance:

"All crewmembers hired AFTER RATIFICATION of this agreement shall report to a DOMICILE (or satellite airport when applicable) as directed BY THE COMPANY, until such time as the crewmember is eligible to use a Home Base Airport."

This is pretty clear and is fully the intent. I would hate to see someone come here thinking that they can change Domiciles anytime they want, YOU CAN'T!! The Company must inform you "no later than the official offer of employment which DOMICILE the Company will REQUIRE each new hire to report for duty".

The forms on crew ops are useable only by those existing pilots at the date of ratification of the agreement who have lifetime grandfather rights to use the HBA or Domicile system at will, at any time. Such 2100 plus pilots have the right to move in and out of Domiciles, Domicile to Domicile, HBA to Domicile, etc., NEW HIRES DO NOT! Pretty sure I am right on this, will check the bargaining notes!!!;)

Any idea if they are still letting you pick?

I have heard that they are, but only a few are available to be picked from, a couple are not being offered. Don't know if this is specific to type aircraft or all encompassing, question to ask before running to an interview!

PBI will be the next to fill up. There are a bunch of ex-Indy Air pilots moving down there. It will be interesting when only CMH and LAX are open for new hires!

It looks like Baja and me are the only ones that actually want to be domiciled in LAX, since we already live in SoCal.

If NetJets actually limits its choices to CMH and LAX, I think the number of qualified applicants will dwindle significantly. Unless you're from Ohio, or already own a crib out here in SoCal, I can't see many folks volunteering to move to a commutable distance from either.

Still waiting for an interview...........

CMH would be a hard sell for my wife, and LAX is absolutely out of the question. I'll be really disappointed if PBI closes this early in the whole "domicile" system, as it's the only base that I actually want to live in.

I grew up in CMH and lived/worked in PBI for about a year and am now living in the CMH area.

I'd prefer CMH. Work out of OSU/TZR/CMH.

COL in PBI is through the roof A "modest" 1 BR 850sq. ft. apt cost around $1200/month when all things were considered (Rent, Electricity, water, cable etc etc.) Gas prices are high, traffic is a beyotch. I hate I-95. A significant amount of "Cops" episodes came from Palm Beach County, Riveria Beach and the like.

The snorkeling in Columbus isn't as good as Palm Beach. The bikini's aren't either. There's enough to do around Columbus you won't be bored and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to live here. It's EASY to get around in Columbus with the way the freeways are set up.

If I was qualified for the job I'd apply. 1500hrs doesn't cut it. Know a couple of X Captains and an X ACP...very nice guys.
