We were told in class that LORs from nja employees mean a great deal in seperating all the apps. I made sure I wrote a few for my buddies.

Freightdog. Did you ever get an interview?

Nope. Still waiting...

1st app sent in August 2006.

2nd app sent in March 2008.

At the same time, I am glad to see that they called some Aloha people. They called a classmate of mine as well as some others. I hope they all get hired - every single one that I know that got called is an absolute class act.

I've heard the same from NJA pilots... they're so swamped with apps that they are using internal letters of rec. pretty heavily. If you have a NJA pilot walk it in, with a few NJA pilot recs on it, you'll get called lickety split.

Apparently, it also helps a lot to be a Flexjet or charter pilot. Some NJA guys I know said they're souring rapidly on the airline guys because of a few bad apples. I have a couple airline friends who applied long ago and haven't heard anything... on the other hand, I know charter guys who have gotten an interview within a couple months of applying. If you know an airline guy going to interview, tell them to shift his/her frame of mind! It's not airline flying. I know too many good airline guys who want in for a few goobers to screw it up.

Good luck to all!

I also waited 8 days and got the e-mail to setup the phone interview which is at the end of the month. I had 2 LOR's. One from a current line pilot and one from a NJ share owner. I don't believe the phone interview is to save just on travel cost because I live in CMH and it would cost almost nothing for me to come to an interview. Good luck to us all
