Depends on what the definition of "is" is...(in my best Clinton voice)

My info is the nose gear collapsed on landing roll-out...for what its worth.

Just glad no ones hurt.
 
I always thought that an incident was = No loss of life
and an accident = loss of life

A crash by my defination is when I have to report it to the FAA or in this case over $50k in damage.

I guess you would consider a runway incursion (For example: crossing an active runway without a clearance), an accident too? That gets reported to the FAA. How about taxiing an airplane and the gear collapses? You call that a crash?

A Gulf Stream IV Private Jet had a landing gear malfunction and has slid off the runway. EGE will be closed until sometime this evening. If you are concerned about an incoming or outgoing flight, please call your travel agent or airline for flight information.

EGE is scheduled to reopen at 7:30 p.m. today and the 9:26 p.m. United Flight is scheduled to arrive on time.
 
Call it what you want but if its over $25k, the insurance company has to get involved and report it to the FAA, you will be adding it to the bottom of every job application that you ever fill out. So maybe that's not a crash to you but I am not trying to get you to give me a job.

At this point, there's no way any of us can really know for sure if the gear collapsed before or after departing the runway.

It seems as if everybody is ok, and that's what matters. Let the NTSB sort the rest out.
