Wolf,

I appreciate your opinions and professional debate. Some would say however that the reason NJI (and Shares for that matter) don't need a union is because there IS a union at NJA. 7and7, raises etc at NJI and Raises, 150% for ext days, etc at Shares.

Not saying you should want a union. You have a good thing going. What I guess is those of us in a union with the same upper management figure, is that this fractional business would be a whole lot worse if it wasn't for a union here. After all we have been through and seeing the same benefits passed through the industry, it is a bit of a slap in the face when someonce claims THEY don't need union, when really they do...just maybe not on their property.

CE750Driver,

Once again the level of misinformation and distortion of facts on this board is amusing.

Quote: "Please, let's not even compare the Captains wages, NJI Captains would have to take a cut to reach the level of the current 1108 contract. Let's talk facts...."

Okay, lets talk facts. 1) I have been a G-IV Captain for more than 5 years and I make FIVE FIGURES LESS than the brand-new YEAR ONE Category 4 Captain pay scale in the 1108 contract. I'm guessing the ever-efficient US Postal Service has lost the letter indicating my new salary which should put me around YEAR TWO Category 4 Captain pay scale in the 1108 contract.
2) NJI's most senior people have been Gulfstream Captains for 11 years now and will be making LESS than the year 11 Category 4 Captain pay scale in the new 1108 contract.

If you still think NJI Captains need a pay CUT to reach the 1108 contract, I'll just chalk it up to public school education.

As I have indicated in previous posts, those of us with an ounce of intellectual honesty fully recognize that NJI's new pay scale, vacation, and schedule policies are a direct result of the new NJA CBA. Nevertheless, NJI pilots have never made the astronomical salaries some believe we do.

WOW.

You just highlighted why our Single carrier petition WILL be successful. Thanks H2

Did TSA and GJ advertise their fleet on their website like this? http://www.netjets.com/Fleet/Aircraft_Details.asp

Access an entire fleet. Owning a NetJets share gives you the freedom to exchange among all 14 different jet types in our global fleet

"Access an entire fleet."

There has never been a clearer single carrier case.

If you're pinning your hopes on this one aspect of the situation I think you're in for a BIG disappointment. The NMB determination goes MUCH deeper than any one aspect of the situation.

Simply put, you're looking at this thing through your IBT 1108 goggles.

Each Carrier has its own management team that is in charge of day-to-day operations.

As is the case with NJA/NJI.

TSA was incorporated in Missouri while GJ's is an LLC formed in Delaware,

NJA- Incorporated in Columbus, OH
NJI- Incorporated in Okatie, SC

While TSA and GJ's are commonly owned by TSH for Hulas Kanodia, he has no involvement in the management of either entity,

NJA/NJI owned by Berkshire Hathaway, Managed by Mr. Santulli

Labor relations and personnel functions at GJ's and TSA are handled separately.

Absolutely true for NJA/NJI

and each Carrier has its own employment applications and personnel forms.

True again.

GJ's and TSA have separate terms and conditions of employment, different wage rates, and separate benefit plans.

True again. (although the benefits are very similar).

Further, the Carriers maintain separate seniority lists and employee rosters.

True for NJA/NJI

While the Carriers both lease space in the same office building, employees for each Carrier have issued ID badges which only allow them access to their respective offices.

NJA/NJI share no office space together, and have seperate uniforms and ID badges

Each Carrier has its own payroll and operational bank accounts, its own aircraft and operating and flight manuals, and its own training arrangements.

True, true, and true

Wow. I have to say if these factors come into play during a hearing, things are looking good for NJI pilots. And dont forget, the NMB will ask for input from both pilot groups, regardless if one is not unionized.

If you want justice go to a whore house, it you want to get screwed go to court. Nobody knows how it will turn out and everyone is just arguing their sides here. As wolf said the smartest thing is for folks to keep their heads and then work it out outside the legal system, but that ain't gonna happen with the head shed mentality here.

Only one thing is for sure-

The lawyers are going to make out like gods on this one.

Yep...

Aviation has been VERY good to the members of the American Bar Association over the past few years...

One of the few things that everyone can agree on Diesel.

Does anyone have the number to that truck driving school? 1800 drivusa? No? I heard that the pay was good and they may be hiring. I think its called MTA (Mack trucks of America) and their international brothers MTI (Mack Trucks International). Sadly, I believe that those guys would get paid more than any of the pilots in the real world. But then again, the rumor on the street is that Frank Lorenzo and Leo Mullins (Ron Allen take your pick) are thinking about coming over too. The gang is all here. What a wonderful world.

You make a good point here Diesel! Does the 1108 have the resources and the will for such an expensive and prolonged legal fight? My understanding is that even in the event the NMB rules in favor of the IBT 1108 it is non-binding in the absence of an agreement to binding arbitration and can be disputed in the courts. We all know of the Ford and Harrison lawyers on the case already, this could take a long time and cost both sides a ton of money, as you have noted.

1108 has the horespower, because losing this would be a black eye to the teamsters who have even more horsepower.
