Want to buy a replacment bag, preferrably a Purdy Neat Stuff bag.

Best price I found on the 23NG was $269.95 at
Stopoverstore.com
Luggageworksonline.com

Any other suggestions on where to look for better price?

Other option

If you have to have a Purdy Neat, then you gotta' have one. But, if you want a bag that'll last just as long and has a lifetime waranty too, try the Signature Executive bag at Costco. It's $85 plus tax.

Not that there's anything wrong with the PNS product (it's a great bag), but don't limit yourself to it. Most Signature bags do double duty as a platform for the Capt's sharpened-up PNS bag (you know, the one where the metal corners have been bent out to inflict maximum damage on everything around it). If they can handle the wear and tear of a PNS being dragged across them 6 times a day, then they can handle anything. :) Check 'em out before you put the $ down for a PNS.

Go with Briggs & Riley.

They are the only company I know of that has a life time warranty even if you are air crew. I have taken mine back a coulple times with no trouble at all. It will run you about $300 for the bag, but you will never have to replace it.....ever!

redneck, you hyphenated your link so the BBS software saw that and connected the hyphen to the next letter in your sentance, making your link unusable. Try to make sure you have space between your links and your text when you paste them and do a "preview reply" to check your links before you post. I know you were just helping the guy find a place to buy a piece of luggage...so I repost the link for you.

WrightAvia,

You omitted an article or two, mixed tenses, and disregarded common punctuation placement, making your message difficult to read. Please proofread prior to posting petty criticisms.

petty criticisms

Yea, that is a little hard to read, but at least the link works now. I would go back up there and edit the post, but it's just about some dorky over priced luggage.

If you do happen to notice any links that I have posted, not working, I appreciate it.

Purdy

Hey GoABX (not the microsoft spellcheckers)

If you go with the Purdy Neat, you probably wont find a better price than that unless you go used or have some inside connection. They price their bags with little or no mark up. I have been everywhere from the NWA stopover shop in MSP to luggageworks.com, to groundschool at ATA where they offer the Purdy (I thought at a discount), but the prices are the same.

Its a great bag. Works good, lasts a long time. You wont be dissapointed.

happy shopping

Hey Folks, thanks for all the input...it is appreciated.

I looked at the Costco product and it doesn't seem that heavy duty, but the guarantee seems to be the value in it. But I don't want to buy something knowing I will have to replace every few years, plus if Costco drops the line it will be a pain in the ass AND I will be without a bag for 3 weeks on the exchange.

My current TravelPro is trashed after 4 years and the first 2 yrs I only used it 3-4 times a month (Reserve was once key). Bear in mind I don't put nearly the wear on it that you pax guys do, suffice it to say TravelPro under-impressed.

I don't 'want' to spend $300, but I am looking at PNS b/c I want to buy it once (okay, getting 10 yrs might be more realistic). I would consider another brand if I was sure it would last. The steel frame on the PNS seems to make the difference.

Did they fix the zipper problem with the 103NextGeneration?

PNS is a POS

I've had my PNS bag for about 3 months and I've sent it back twice. The handle will not stay locked up, and I'm begging them to give me my money back. I've talk to several guys that have had to same problem, but not quite as bad as mine.

Buy at your own risk!!

I will say that I'm seeing more people at the company I just went to work for, switch to the Costco bag. I'll do the same if I can get my money back.

I have the costco bag, it is pretty sturdy, the only thing that will wear out on it are the wheels. After 1.5 years of really hard abuse, one of the wheels wore out. Took it and the receipt back to costco, they gave me cash back, no questions asked. I then went into the store and bought another.

If they discontinue the model, you can get your cash back and buy a new bag.

I'd recommend the Costco bag.

I love my PNS bag, but man, is it ever heavy. Not sure if the Costco one is as heavy. If not, and I had it to do over again, I might take a good hard look at that Costco one.

Good thing we have our ever-vigilant post cop, Wrightaviation looking after us. Could you imagine flying with that kind of silly anal-ness? (not sure if that hyphen was properly placed or even necessary, hope he doesn't critique me.)

I bought a bag from them several years ago, took it on one trip and noticed the whole bag was warped. I first noticed it because a wheel was squeaking, then I noticed it was rubbing because the frame wasn't square. They tried to say they wouldn't take it back because it was used. I explained to them via letter that it was outrageous for them to not inspect their bags properly prior to shipment. The customer shouldn't be expected to have to do q.c. on received goods. The box it came in wasn't damaged at all, it definitely came out of the factory defective. They finally agreed to give me a full refund, and I bought a briggs and riley. I've had to send it back once in 4 years, and I was given a loaner while it was being repaired. I especially like the expandable feature, and the suit carrier. A drawback is that there is no convenient outside pocket to stuff a water bottle in. Kind of annoying.
