AM 750 WSB talk show host Neal Boortz made mention of ASA during his show on 4/11. Neal traveled on ASA to Fayetteville NC on 4/4 to do a book signing and ranted that it took 1 hour after deplaning for his and the other passengers checked baggage to make it baggage claim, with no other RJ's on property. Neal specifically mentioned that the cabin and flight deck crews were not the object of his wrath, but was dumbfounded at the snails pace of the FAY station to unload a "little RJ" and get said bags to baggage claim.

Boortz talks to get other people to listen. Just for kicks, google the terms 'rating' and 'share'. From that perspective, you can probably explain the vast majority of his temper tantrums.

The guy probably read an article about ASA and decided to incorporate some ASA bashing into the show.

Good question, though: why didn't he take the mooney? If having his bags immediately available to him was his highest priority, why not fly himself? He went with the cheaper option that matched his schedule; he got what he paid for. (I wasn't there, but there is possibly a perfectly logical reason why his bags weren't presented to him in a timely manner. Benefit of the doubt.)

Why the disdain for a guy who owns his own(2, actually...Mooney and Decathalon) airplane? He loves to talk about it on the air, is a good advocate of GA way out in the public eye and has been flying avidly for years and years.

I think he has something going on w/ Airtran. I heard he flew United [Express] from GJT to DEN, went out of security, got his baggage, then went back through security to take Airtran to Atlanta.

Boortz has a point. Some of these stations are so short staffed that they unload the bags, load the next flight, and then take the bags to baggage claim from the inbound flight.

Which is interesting only because 750 WSB is owned by Cox and Cox owns the Atlanta Urinal newspaper which didn't have one negative article/expose on how the executives at Delta nearly buried the biggest employer in Atlanta. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the countless millions spent in adverting over the years in their newspaper medium which happens to be shrinking in circulation even though the metro ATL are is booming in population growth.

during dalpa's last negotiations neil doorkz ranted and raved about how bad the dalpa pilots were because of their demands. He clearly has an agenda if he took that stance. No one can have as much time and $$ invested in aviation, live in ATL, being politically focused, and be THAT ignorant of the forces at play. He was undoubtedly mouthing someones talking points.

He also lied about it on the radio like a scared little girl when he was called on it.

He is the typical rich FBO weekend warrior loud mouth hero.

The fact that the dweeb couldn't fly from ATL to FAY proves he is out of his depth. I did flights like that as a teenager.
