and this is something new? it has been this way for years. it was a planned event by the legacy carriers to maintain a monolopy.

I guess the media finallly gets it after 10 plus years

Bizarre coincidence, about 7 years and 1 month ago, there was media attention about the same thing. At least as far as LGA was concerned.

Does anybody know if the "slottery" that was imposed in March of 01 has been lifted for LGA?

It's been 5 years since I was based there. But it seemed like after that thing took affect, LGA seemed like a ghost town at times.

Too much money at stake and the FAA administrator isn't going step into that hornet's nest.

As usual, nothing will change until there's a fatal accident.

Yet another example of the media's complete inept understanding of aviation.

RJs have flourished for years. They talk about it as it's somethin new.

IMO, STAFFING is the reason for the delays. Less ground staff to load up the planes, less pilots to fly them, less controllers to guide them around each other.

It's the STAFFING, Stupid!

The "problem" has many ugly heads, the glut of RJ's is just one of those ugly heads.

You think it's bad now, just pick up a copy of the latest AOPA or Flying magazine and just look at the number of VLJs (Very Light Jets) that are about to enter the market. Of course these guys will feel the need for speed and want to share the same flight levels and J routes that the airliners and corporate jets do.

What I was thinking
