Yet another example of the media's complete inept understanding of aviation.

RJs have flourished for years. They talk about it as it's somethin new.

IMO, STAFFING is the reason for the delays. Less ground staff to load up the planes, less pilots to fly them, less controllers to guide them around each other.

It's the STAFFING, Stupid!
 
The "problem" has many ugly heads, the glut of RJ's is just one of those ugly heads.

You think it's bad now, just pick up a copy of the latest AOPA or Flying magazine and just look at the number of VLJs (Very Light Jets) that are about to enter the market. Of course these guys will feel the need for speed and want to share the same flight levels and J routes that the airliners and corporate jets do.
