I did my first solo there in 1990, great group of people. Anyone remember that hot blonde female flight instructor. What was her name?

Great to hear some old Navajo folks on here.
Navajo was my first instructor job. I was hired there in 1988. The Sorensons owned it back then, of course. What a great place to work. Good pay, a ramp full of well maintained a/c, a bustling 135 operation for the instructor's to move into once they got the hours, and more students then you could shake a stick at.
Remember the BBQs? Every Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine that BBQ was going. How 'bout the pastel (Miami Vice was the rage at the time) Navajo Aviation golf shirts the CFIs wore?
Geez, those were fun times. I think that was the most fun flying job I ever had.
Any other Navajo alums out there???
Do you remember Joe Chagas he was my first flight instructor in 77 and then Debbie Davis I think about them often what a great place to work I Pump Fuel there for a few yearsBad News

I'm Jeff Glenn I work during 1977 Joe Chagas and Debbie Davis were my flight instructors sadly Debbie was killed in the mid-air and I think of them often it was a great place to work super great peopleWow, just found these interesting comments. I have wonderful memories of flying out of Navajo (NRI). Got my PPL on 1/18/76 just in time to fly the last Powder Puff Derby with my mother. Flew with Roberta Prickett, Earl Covel and for a short while Lee Hunter working on my IFR rating and ran out of money. Put it on hold for a few years, got current at DVO in early 2000's, finally got my instrument rating and enjoying flying again. Great memories of flying out of CCR calling over the moth ball fleet. Great IFR VOR approaches, no GPS or noise cancelling headsets back then. Yikes!!
