This message is hidden because B19 Flyer is on your ignore list.
I have Resident Idiot 19 on ignore but, only since you quoted him;
Flight Options pilots are operating much more safely and legally than 2 years ago BECAUSE of the union. The union's safety committee has teeth, FLOPS Safety department simply kisses MS's ass.
So, do you have any data to support this claim? This is quite a bold statement to make without supporting facts...
And as far as the ignore function, you're just limiting yourself to one side of the argument. This endangers your ability have a well informed view on this or any subject (I know, just like I said in my post in the FO mechanics union thread).
The choir rarely cares about what the preacher is saying.
uhm, "bold statement"? You either don't work there or, if you do, you have your head in the sand.
A. I worked there ...worked
B. Pilots don't fly broken airplanes nearly as much. ...data?
C. Pilots don't fly over duty nearly as much ...it's voluntary
D. Pilots are performing more thorough preflights...yeah, to disrupt trips for the union agenda under the guise of "safety"
E. Pilots are helping each other perform more thorough preflights. This, in no small part, has to do with union solidarity. see "E"
F. The union's Safety Committee issues DYK's (Did You Know?) on a regular basis. These DYK's are proactive advisories on issues regarding safety and regulatory compliance. The company's safety department has been historically reactive and never issued bulletins that didn't have a pro management spin. ...and there's no pro union spin in those DYKs, right?
G. The union made sure there was union involvement in the ASAP program per FAA guidelines when management attempted to keep the union out. The union is very proactive on getting pilots to submit ASAP reports. These ASAP reports have resulted in certain intimidation program PSM's losing their positions and being placed in non-safety related duties (i.e. Aircraft Support Manager). ...union involement is not required to effectively execute the ASAP program. Its apples and oranges. ASAP=all about safety Union=all about "pay me more for less"
H. The union showed management the absurdity of the "productivity meetings" and showed them that pilots do not control their number of legs flown per day. This somewhat curbed management's on-going intimidation programs. ...um, yes. They do. See "E" above once again
others, feel free to add to the list
 I needed a minute to recover from my laughter.
That would only apply if B19 actually made cogent and sensible arguments. That would also apply if B19 actually answers your questions. If well informed views are to be had, they are most certainly not from a babbling troll like B19. ...I think he's just standing his ground as all of you also do.
I have no trouble having an intelligent debate with someone with an opposing view. The keyword being "intelligent".
Well said, Waka. We don't need to read a bunch of union bashing posts to figure out what we think... And yours aren't management bashing? Come on you can do better.
By the time the Options pilots collected enough cards during the organizing drive to call for a vote the subject had been discussed at length and each pilot had had ample time to make up his/her mind about the Union. The same can be said of those who applied to a unionized pilotgroup. Obviously, the union question was considered and found acceptable or the pilot wouldn't have applied there. Flight Options is not Netjets and won't be. You always compare them, but it doesn't fit. Get over it and worry about your own business and giving your husband airhead.
Skanza is throwing out chaff to hide his real agenda. Feel free to use the ignore function selectively to enhance your board time. That's what it's there for. If you don't like a posting style give it the boot. Or if you don't want to expand your mind on something because you don't like the content, you can ignore. Like I said, the chior never gets any information from the preacher.
Skanza, to better help me understand your perspective can you please tell me where you are currently employed and what your job position is?
