At some point, there is a certain amount of money dedicated to fuel, maintenance and yes... labor.

Included in that labor number are insurance, SSI taxes, vacation, etc. that costs the company as much as 75 cents for every dollar of payroll.

(So you can take your wages, multiply them by 1.75 and come out to about what the amount is actually being paid for by the company.)

No matter how you slice it, the value of anything is what somebody is willing to pay for it. If you are not happy with what you are making, you have the right to vote with your feet and find a company willing to pay you what you are worth.

If you can't find anybody willing to pay you that number, then you've already found what you are worth.

Take responsiblity for your own career. Placing your career in the hands of others like 1108 is foolhardy.

All of the frac pilots are professionals and should be able to afford the same basics of life (safe, comfortable housing and vehicles, savings, college funds for their kids, etc) that other professionals take for granted.

Responsible managers plan on paying the going rate for other business costs and pilot wages should be no different. Smart CEOs motivate their workforce and treat them with respect. Paying professionals like they're unskilled labor is exploitation in keeping with Sheeringa's arrogance and appalling lack of integrity.
