Hey there B-19, whats your thought on a company that would make a employee with a horrible illness. Use his LTD payout, to make cobra payments, because, that company, will no longer keep his health insurance in force. That's just a Godless, inhumane, thing to do to a fellow human being. I dont care who you are. Or where you stand. That's just wrong, on every single level. And thats the type of management team these guys have to face.

Good Luck!

When my friends were forced out and laid off due to a strike, I didn't see a whole lot of help from the union for them as either union or non-union members.

What a shock it was to the union pilots to discover their union strike benefits didn't cover the cost of basic cobra payments and they were SOL. The union never informed them it could happen.

It was heartless by the union and to the union the strike was only business. The strike affected thousands of workers.

While your story is touching, and doesn't seem right, I've seen a lot more damage and heartless actions done by unions. You are talking about a single issue. I'm talking about thousands of families. Union actions don't stop at the company, it tears apart entire communities. Fuelers, caterers and other airport workers are put out of work or laid off. The tax base of the airport and the surrounding community is shredded.

My family has twice suffered at the hands of unions and there isn't a single thing you'll ever say to convince me there is anything but the icewater of selfishness running through the veins of staunch union supporters. While the situation you note is sad, and morally and ethically may not seem right, I know families that have lost a lot more than that due to a union strike.

WH, I couldn't agree more. I use the phrase contract battle precisely because the FLOPS running the company declared war on the Options pilots.

The "battle" began because the union entered the property. The union are the invaders, and the company is going to do everything they can to repel the invaders and preserve the financial status of the company.

The contract needs to be negotiated, not won.

There are never any winners in union intervention in today's day and age.

B-19.....The actions I reference, took place some time ago, and you know it....The unioun battle you mention just began. The finacial status you speak of remanins to be seen. Leave the sick, and innocent out of it. Fair fight gloves off. Give these men and women their health insurance back. Lets see where it goes from there. That small pitence might earn you alot more in the coming weeks. If nothing else, your own self respect. Lets rumble, but leave those that can't protect themselves out of it!!

Good luck. The fun just started.

B-19....I've always liked the back of the bus because thats where the fun is. The individual battle has been fought and won. Now, lick your lips, It's for hearts and minds. 75 guys on the street ! A company on the brink! A contract on the table ! And whole lot of cash out there rolling around.
The "PLAYOFFS'' It's going to get good.

Why didn't ya answer my post bafoon 19?

I'm sure the answer would be "because it doesn't deserve and answer"....Or something empty, not clever.

Here, let me grab a couple other responses to other posters.

The "battle" began because the union entered the property.

Yeah? Well how far down the tubes did you expect the pilots to let management go before they tried to save their careers?

The union are the invaders, and the company is going to do everything they can to repel the invaders and preserve the financial status of the company

Repelling the invaders......WTF????

Sir, the only thing being invaded is your balance sheet by your sh!tty managment! A majority of those pilots were already in the company when it was the highest paid fractional.

(Oh by the way Bafoon-19 I know what an invasion is, as well as an occupying force, On this we agree, except for whom the invader is)

So, who invaded who?

Preserve the financial status? Who's? The 75 recently terminated ones?

Oh? I think not!I think it has become clear whom is trying to be preserved here.

There are never any winners in union intervention in today's day and age.

Well, I can say one thing as sure as I can since you have never divulged your dirty little secret as to where you work............. Oh wait! You work for a great non union shop...................... So you don't work for Netjets!

Well theres another rant of yours shot in the a$$.

Boy you just can't win........

You have one thing going for you, I am not your judge, and you should be thankful for that. But I pray you are judged soon.

Bafoon-19, wherever you are, I hope you dream of the people you have affected tonight, and every night hence, until you are crystal clear about what you and people like you are doing.

BRK bought the WHOLE company. Planes, buildings, computers, cars, and a Unionized work force. It is a cost of doing business you dolt. But it does not surprise me that a management lackey like yourself can not (refuses) to see that. That argument ends there as far as Mr. Buffett goes, he buys the companys but he does not run them. Just do some research.
Now if NJA didn't want to cover the cost of paying for Pilots to come off the line and do Union work (and a lot of company work) they had options.
Negotiate a "better" contract for themselves.
Do what FLOPS is doing.

They chose wisely in 2005 AND 2007!
Amazing how capitalism works.

Stay away from NJA we want to stay profitable!

Hey why are you dodging AeroBoy's questions??? Maybe we all should start calling you at your office and see when the next post is coming!

Hate to quote myself. But....

so your saying you don't like unions?

ok got it...

contract

There are never any winners in union intervention in today's day and age.

Oh!! You mean like the contract we have here at NJA??

The one that gave everyone a substantial raise?
7&7 + 15 day + 18 day scheds ?
Big time holiday pay?
No-cost health insurance?
100 cities to fly from?

Yeah, that would be the one..

you sir, are an idiot !!

B19,

How about you man up and tell everyone that I've got you pegged? You still refuse to answer my question about the fractional advisory board. Am I going to be the one that has to out you, or will you do it voluntarily?

Ignoring me will only make the pain worse when it comes time to name names.
