Does anybody know of any gouge called My First Year as a Southwest Pilot, or something along those lines? A friend who flies with Southwest said his class (class over 2 years ago) had a gouge handout that explained a lot of otherwise unmentioned pitfalls in commuting etc. Probably, handed down from class to class over the years. I am sure the ground school class will cover most of it but it would be nice to get some gouge as well. Thanks in advance.

Didn't see anything when I went through the school house and just last year we changed our commuter policy to allow offline commuting with the same protections of online commuting so things are only getting better.

A couple years ago there was a gouge handout called "ideas for the first 90 days" or something like that. The information was decent but is dated since the new SNORT procedures went into effect last April. You're better off reading the FOM anyway, it's fairly readable.

Good luck,
KT
