They're all just big cubs :)

Are you going to go around the patch with someone a few times before you take it home?? If not, at least spend a while taxing it around...slow and fast, and stay within' your comfort zone for the first bit. I.E. maybe grass, light winds etc...

A 1930 RNF, hasn't flown in a few years, it's all there, covered back in 1970 and annualed in 2003 but they didn't fly it, have to get a fresh annual and see if I can fly it home for him.
I helped restore several Wacos back when we were living in Ohio. The big thing is to get checked out on the round engine. It's not complicated, but you can bugger the thing up if you don't do it right.

I've seen one Waco up close, and it's awesome your dad got one. Sorry I can't add anything useful to the flying side.
