Should be plenty of room when SWA gets the 49% of F9 that the RUH CEO doesn't want or cannot afford. You and all the Fo's at F9 will be moved to the front of the line hopefully

Sean Roth- I think your biggest obstacle would be your current coworkers delivering copies of some of your recent posts from FI demonstrating what an egocentric, self serving waste of an employee number you are at your current company.

Man, this is a TOUGH room!

Type requirement may be coming back for the interview. There is a belief that there has been a loss of culture since the type req'd to interview was dropped.

Connections also matter. I don't have the PIC, so my buddy told me to just fudge it and he'd do the rest. Also, my interview prep lady is first rate. PM me and I'll find her name for you. I'm so stoaked this F9 thing went down in flames, because I'm retiring in a few years, and I thought that would have screwed my chances.

im going to go out on a limb and be a negative nancy and say your chances are less than 1%. I mean are you serious? Unless you have experience, skill, letters of rec, great attitude and talent-- you might have agreat interview but thanks for coming. You are competing with so many people it's ridiculous--- people who have the type, time in type, military, civilian with tons and tons of experience and who have family in the hiring dept have numerous letters of rec from various levels of magmnt.

Dont mean to burst your bubble, but just being honest-- not saying you dont have a chance, b/c there always is, it about as much as winning the powerball though--so dont put all your eggs in one basket and apply early and often to as many airlines as will accept apps and resumes and go with the first one that hires you as your backup as you target SW is my advice.

"My chance @ SWA"

What a bunch of self important fools.

You can't even discern when a Troll is making fun of you?

Jesus H. Christ.

You people are worse off than I had EVER imagined.

Seriously.

YKMKR

Hold on there, Whino. I think that in 2002, there's a strong possibility the guy was serious and really wanted it. What is fitting for the troll is that if he did do the Higher Power type rating course and subsequently didn't get an interview, he's one of the few, because HP is a virtual conduit to interview access at SWA. That's assuming one isn't a complete dork, however, so in this case he probably got weeded out.

If you are military...and an academy grad on top of that, they shouldn't even waste your time interviewing. They should just give you a new hire pamphlet. Military pilots are such great pilots, that they figure that they had better grab as many as they can get.
