Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a link with all of you to let you know that a face does exist behind this screenname! :)

I recently completed four television segments for one of the job boards where I serve as a Career Expert. If you click on the link below and scroll about 3/4 of the way down the page, under Career Tips, you can play the video that has been broadcast over the web and on TV for this week. Not sure when the others will air.

I put you to sleep in 1:30? Maybe I should market the video for sleep-deprived people. It could be a scientific breakthrough!! :D

What is the trick to getting it to work, WMP won't open the file for me.
I think one of my friends got it to work by playing the "low" version. I am not sure what they are using for a media player. If you still are having trouble, I can shoot a quick email to the individuals tomorrow on the web side of things for the job board.

Looks great Kathy. How much does it cost to get a resumé made up?

Hi Jackotron,

My cost for a pilot resume is $90. It includes a one-hour consult on the phone and the full composition of your resume. You can click on my business name in the signature line and it will take you to the site.

Looked good to me...:)

Yes, very professional presentation Kathy...keep up the good work.

Thanks for the kind words. The funny thing is, it took about 6 takes to get it right! :) (and that was for each segment!) There was no teleprompter to read from, so all this had to come right off the top of my head. I made them get me a white board to write an outline of what I would be covering so that I could keep my thoughts together. They were so great with me because I am such a perfectionist. I just did not want to look stupid if I said words that sounded dumb! :D

They were so funny on other things, like when they put that computer in front of me. They had to stage me and walk me through putting my hands on the keyboard at the right time, even though I never typed a thing! They added that all in later. It was a pretty complex process for something that lasted for 1:30.

They have a very hard job. This was not like a casual conversation when someone is interviewing you. Everything had to be just right. It is amazing to me the editing that they went through with this one segment. Each part was done is blocks and it looks like I was just talking the whole time. I am very impressed!!

Anyway, I know that my job in life is not to do outtakes like this!!

Well worth the money! For the lazy folks like myself I did very little work for a top notch resume. Both an email version and a printable version.

Thanks again Kathy.

Nice segment, Kathy!

When I clicked on it with my Mac, it opened in Windows Media player.

Nice work Kathy! You really are the epitemy of a person whose mission is to help people in times when few are willing.

PS...which Rousch driver will win the cup: Kenseth, Martin, or Busch? Hopefully none of the above, although I'll root for Mark in the end. I'll put money on 24, history is on my side. I'm originally from the Mooresville, NC area, so I have the inside scoop. ;)

Kenseth, of the Roush guys, he's the most consistent.

I'm rooting for the old man, but afraid that Gordon will get another head seat at the banquet.

Kathy, I'm only trying for one job, SWA, and they obviously use the online app. Do I still need the perfect resume?

You're only trying for one job? I know SWA is the ultimate goal for most people, but are there any other carriers that you would want to work for at all? I would never suggest that anyone put all their eggs in one basket.

For SWA, no, you do not need the perfect resume. Just make sure the information you do provide them stands out! :) (When they first put up the online app, I went in and filled it out so that I could know what they required. However, that was in January, and I do not remember the whole form. No, I did not fill it out for myself!!)

Thanks, Wrigley. I do my best to try and help people. I think it all comes back to me because I have really loyal clients.

P.S. As far as the Rousch driver, I would have to go with Kenseth. But I am still pulling for Kasey Kahne. (I know, I know, he doesn't have a chance) Did you all know that in his rookie year he has racked up over $3 million in winnings?? It seems that Robby Gordon made a fatal mistake in last weeks race. Tough way to potentially lose a job.
