This is an actual job ad verbatim! Y'all have fun with this one!
Learjet 35 A copilot to perform SIC duties for a pristinely maintained and operated aircraft.
Low utilization Part 91 Lear 35 being operated on oceanic endurance (4.5 hr. legs).
We need a very light copilot (100#s) to assist in moving the CG aft to minimize drag and
Optimize fuel burn/speed/range. We are in the process of executing a weight reduction program which is culminating in the removal of the standard “heavy” America’s/Caribbean Jepp bag in exchange for dual EFBs. Weight in the corporate jet cockpit imposes tremendous performance penalties which ultimately results in excess fuel burn. In the lear, there is frequently not enough fuel to start with. At $6/gal a 200# copilot will easily consume his/her salary in extra fuel burn and lost range each year (having to land short just once a week costs $50k/yr.).
In light of the aforementioned requirements, we’re willing to work with the right candidate. Preference will be given to an organized adventure seeker who enjoys scuba-diving, boating, hiking etc and can be away from home for extended periods of time.
