"Flying in a Blue Dream" and "IF I Could Fly" -- Joe Satriani

While we're on the subject, whats the best site to download songs from? I need a crash pad project. What sites to you guys use?

"RASTAMAN CHANT" - The Wailers, (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, & Bunny Wailer),

"One bright morning, when my work is over I will fly away home".

Gotta take it back to the 70's and an old Kansas album called "Masque". They've got a song on it called something like "Icarus: Borne on Wings of Steel". Really one for about the 9-level and all the monitors pegging out on the amp.

yeah avbug, I have gone over to the other side. Thought I might try being a "real" pilot. The jury is still out. I have been really enjoying the flying, what little they have been giving me. This is going to definately take some adjusting to. Still flying the SEATS? Hope you have a good season.

Nobody mentioned "Are You Ready to Fly?" by Dune.

How about "Magic Carpet Ride"? I spent about 1800 hours "Right between the sound machines" flying freight....

Buck Rodgers, by Feeder, the song when Owen Wilson shoots off the deck in the F-18 in Behind Enemy Lines.../QUOTE]

"No Bucks, No Buck Rodgers..."

Pink Floyd: The Wall

1)In the Flesh? Pt 1: Ends with dive-bombing Stuka (or other WWII fighter). Used to crank that one up really loud on the stereo back when the album came out. Ah, adolescence.

2)Another Brick in the Wall (part II): Starts with helicopter hovering in over school; also very cool, but was way over-played in its day.

3)Goodbye Blue Sky: Starts out with some really cool radial-engine bombers.

4)Nobody Home: Plane crash in background at end; Also, phrase "gotta know where to fly to..."

5)Run Like H*ll: Nope, no aviation stuff, just a cool song. Go listen to it.

Now I'm going to have to borrow the movie from my bro.

I second (third?) "Treetop Flyer" as a great aviation song. I think it was David Crosby...

I like "Aces high" by Iron maiden. Best of the beast Album is pure gold if you need some pumping up!

One of my favorite memories was when we needed to go do some touch and goes in a Gulfstream for currency. Real casual. Jeans, boots, and t-shirts. Had the cabin radio cranked up and during one of the t&g's, during the takeoff, Aerosmith, Sweet Emotion comes on. Great weather, great song, great gig, good friends. Brew and Q afterwards. Just one of those days.

Check these out.

Alan Parsons Project, "On Air". Tremendous CD.

Masterplan, "Aeronautics". More modern hard rock with great hooks and melodies.

Are we talking, Al Stewart, Year of the Cat, circa 1977?

School Boy Heart

I got a school boy heart, a novelist eye
Stout sailor's legs and a license to fly
I came with nomad feet and some wandering toes
That walk up my long board and hang off the nose
