You could get a crappy freight job at STP and network your but into something good... That's if you really need a job.

Anybody? Anything around MN?

Good luck friend...Ive spoken with a few Cheif Pilots with Fortune 500 flght dpts in the past few weeks-months and all have said the same thing....

the MSP market is unbelievably saturated with pilots and those with jobs ARENT MOVING.

I hope you know somebody...and even then you have to hope that positions open up :(

Bemidji Freight posted pilot jobs a couple days ago if that helps.

Anybody heard anything from shwanns?? I submitted a couple weeks ago but didn't hear anything.

msp is also flooded with PDT and horizon peeps trying to break into the corp gigs. not going to happen unless you got some good friends and over 3K in hours for insurance

anyone have any info on that bemidji aviation company? I understand the no weekends thing... what about during the week? Is it the late night bank runs? Do they require overnights, or mostly out and backs... and how is the work in an all around sense? Basically I am looking for something in MPLS that doesn't require a ton of overnight travel, and would like to get hours quickly to add to my military time so I can meet the fractionals total time mins.

thanks

I've had a couple of friends who have flow at bemidiji. He was based in Rice Lake WI. He just did a run from Rice Lake to MSP, sat in MSP for some ungodly amount of time and then flew back to Rice Lake. I think he only got something like maybe an hour and half Hobbs per day. I know that they do have the cargo gig with UPS flyin' QueenAir's and BE-99's... I'm also pretty sure they've got a 135 outfit flying KingAirs... I couldn't tell ya specifics though...

If you have contact info from your buddy, or if he is a part of this website, I would love to be able to ask him a few questions... if he wouldn't mind, could you pm me with a way to ask him? thanks

does the schwans job require you to live in Marshall, or can you commute from the cities?

must live in Marshall.

is that the operation that flies King Airs and Beach400s? They want you on a pager for use all the time, with no benefits... right?

Bemidji does have a King Air that they use for Charters. Also they have a contract with Mesaba to fly Mechanics and parts around, Usually in the middle of the night. There biggest contract is with UPS, they have probably 20-25 aircraft dedicated to that. And also a couple of smaller ones for DHL.

Yeah.. They got a real bad reputaion when they crash with Sen. Welstone onboard. They used to make you pay for training as well I think.

The MSP market really is saturated, unless you have lots of time and know the right people you are better off looking someplace else for now. I moved from the Cities to KY and found the job and pay situation much better..

There are a bunch of us from Independence Air in MSP also. I've been trying to go corporate for a couple of years now with no luck. I applied at Schwans also, but never heard back. Wouldn't mind moving to Marshall either...seems like a good operation. Like everybody says, MN is very pilot saturated, but just keep applying and networking and maybe over time you can make contact with the right person. Good luck!

Could you try Wisc-Air? It's a small cargo operation out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

As I recall, the aircraft are flown primarily out of Anoka in the North Metro of the Twin Cities. Sorry I don't know much more about it, but if anyone else has information....

Saint--

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I've seen them referred to as Jet Choice or Minnesota Choice Aviation....Is it the same operation? I think they operate Falcon 10s and 50s as a management company at St Paul Downtown.

Thanks.

Do they have a more formal name or does anybody know what their contact information is? I googled them and it didn't come up with much.

Thanks guys!
