What's the big deal? It takes about 2-3 weeks to regrow the damn thing, unless you're talking about a handle bar style that takes 5-6 weeks. I've also sported a stash for 30 years and cut the thing off for the NJA interview. Grew it back before I got the call.
You may want to be the tough ass that comes wearing jeans with senior test pilot wings on your jean jacket and test your luck, or come looking as clean cut and clean shaven as the majority do, with far less experience, and guess who gets the job?
