I heard this one yesterday from a not-so-reliable source: LGA and CHO closing, BGM opening. Anyone else heard this from a more reliable source?

I've heard grumblings of BGM opening again, but not of the closings, and I wouldn't call any of my sources reliable, just good old fashioned rumors.

Yup, heard that one too... There goes my build up. I actually enjoyed working for an airline for the last two months.
Oh, well, all good things must come to an end, I suppose.

I've been hearing this one in the LGA crew room ever since we merged. True? Maybe... Management considers LGA as a "problem" base. They don't want to overnight crews in NYC due to the cost, so I doubt very much they will close LGA as long as they have 5 originators.

As far as CHO goes, I have no idea. I would have thought EWN would be next with 5 jets a day in and out of there. I kinda think that BGM is probably wishful thinking on the part of the ALG folks. Anyone have any idea how many originators we have a day out of BGM?

I agree with LPC, they don't want to overnight @ LGA, so they need that base. I've heard the BGM rumor, but it mostly sounded like a wishful thinking (the people keeping it alive were those who wanted it).

Wow, that my base!! They have 2 RJ's a day, and this summer they add the another (RJ 700)... 3 a day!!

Shhhh, don't talk about 5 a day!! You scared me and I had to look it up!! LOL

I asked this question directly to Mr. Steve Farrow last week. He told me that there are absolutely no plans to close any more bases at this time.

He sounded sincere and even gave me about 30 minutes of his time to answer questions.

Sorry B...

I got that info from a former very senior EWN CA, initials D.T., in PHL the other day. I was suprised, but didn't think to check the computer to see. I probably misheard him. Believe me, I want back into EWN like nobody's business... Holding a line, that is.

...Me thinks it'll be a while.

D.T. Was preaching about how EWN would always be open before he bid and got ROA!!! LOL, D.T. always tries to justify a dumb move!!!

I gotta call that fool right now and give him crap!!!

Dag's a tard. Unnecessarily causing more force moves than needed.

Steve Farrow is a great person to ask a question to....he'll tell you what you want to hear...he is full of ****!!
Johnny B and Farrow are not the people to go to to flind out what is happening with ethe future of the company!!!

Those damn norwegians are always starting some $hit!!

If CHO loses much more Dash flying, it might go on the chopping block. I'd hate to see that since that would put the Alien in my base (probably), and also boot more friends out of their home.

The talk was that is the company couldn't fix the problems at LGA, then they should close it. Only way that'll happen is if Colgan takes over those 5 to 6 morning originators.

Keep in mind that the nuts who run this place told many pilots, and the MEC that PHF was safe after ORF was closed, and that CLT would probably be OK. You can't trust anything that comes from them.... (unless they tell you your rear end will continue to be sore).

I sincerely doubt BGM will reopen. When I left ALG several years ago, I remember they had to force flying into that base in order to get the aircraft to maintenance. Unless there's been a major change in the schedule at BGM, there just isn't enough traffic in or out of there to warrent a crew base. I remember the city of BGM (or Broome county, whatever) wanted ALG to stay so bad, that they offered the MTC hanger free of charge for the first several years of a proposed contract. Of course, they turned it down. that made too much sense.

First of all, Farrow never said anything about the future of the company. PDT was told to extend their Dash 8 leases for three years, thats it.

Secondly, Farrow never told me anything that I wanted to hear. All he said was there are no plans to close CHO. I've been force moved multiple times and I'm commuting again anyway.

Third, why would anyone even talk to Johnny B?
