Got a check ride today for the CFII (initial CFI) and I'm more nervous than I ever have been for a check ride.

The PPL I was a little nervous because I had never experienced a check ride. For the IR I was fine...even did it in actual. The CSE, I didn't even get anxious the night before. This one I'm freaking out about...anyone got tips to calm me down? Oral starts in 4 hours...yikes!

You either know it or you don't. I'm sure you know it, so just try to relax.
I was always the same way though, I freaked out about EVERY ride. Once I got comfortable (a few minutes into the oral and then a few minutes into the ride), I would do just fine.
I kept reminding myself that I'm not going to be asked to do or teach anything that I haven't done or taught before.
Actually, the only ride I didn't even get sweaty palms over was my Da-10 type ride. I was a little nervous during the oral though :)

In closing, Good luck, you'll do fine! Let us know how it goes!

Good luck mini, show 'em how it's done!
Like Flying Illini said, at this point, you know it or you don't, but we all have faith in you, good luck!!

stay off flightinfo...

It wont be near as bad as you think. You hear the horror stories about 8 hour orals and all that junk. Its not like a normal checkride and once you get into it you won't even realize how long you have been at it. Be sure and ask questions(not stupid ones) to the examiner, they love to tell stories and you may even learn something. Also this will help take the attention off of you and help you relax, make it feel more like a conversation than an oral test. Good luck and if you fail, tough sh!t, just do it again in a few days and pass!

Since you are doing the CFII as your initial (which is what I did as well) I believe the most important thing is proving to the examiner you can teach. Keep a positive attitude, show 'em you can teach and it will make up for any small slip ups in knowledge or flying. Good luck!

And don't volunteer information. If they ask a yes or no question answer it that way. Good luck, you'll do fine.

have a couple of shots of whiskey. that should settle you down.

GOOD LUCK, MINI!! WE'RE PULLING FOR YOU!!! actually, me especially. being from ohio and all, i know you're gonna teach me to fly for an extremely reduced rate. you know, cuz you're nice like that :) you're the man, you'll be fine.

so are you gonna tell us how it went today?
Hope it went well and you're out having a few beers! And if it didn't I still hope that you're out having a few beers! :)
