A little birdy told me that SKW is to get 8 more of the 70 seat deliveries instead of ASA. Anyone else heard this? Texx?

Can't wait for the next managment memo from BL.

Still not gonna cave in on the contract!

The number I heard was 6, and they weren't deliveries either, but a/c we already have. I hope it's not true, but with the current state of the contract negotiations, I wouldn't be surprised.

The one thing that I don't understand about this management, and that goes for every management team that we have had since G&J, is why they continue to do things that piss off the pilot group. If this is true it is more than likely just going to make people mad, especially after the profit figures came out today. Let's hope that SKYW pilots get together and vote in ALPA so maybe some of this cr@p cam at least be slowed down.

WHy would the Skywest pilots do that????????? THey are loving this, reaping all the benefits of our sh!t sandwich. They are laughing, rolling around lighting cigars with $20 bills! While their guys are upgrading out of initial newhire training, our guys are facing 6-8 years in the right seat! So, why in the world would those guys give a sh!t what happens to us or our airplanes. I think they are saying "keep them coming"!!

Because I hope that they can see that eventually the tables WILL be turned, and it will be them getting the sh!t sandwich.

You are way off Sir!

Not one SkyWest Pilot likes the whipsaw effect. We voted down our last TA which included a 1.2% raise and no concessions. We are refusing to lower the bar any lower. We were lied to and tricked 3 years ago and have not forgotten.

There is currently an organizing effort at SKYW, with hundreds of pilots pre-registered to vote. It's not SkyWest pilots against ASA. It's all pilots against the lowering of the bar!

Since when are they your airplanes? They were supose to go to SkyWest in the first place. Just remember SkyWest made the money SkyWest INC. bought you with. If it wasn't for SkyWest you would be in the same position Comair is in. It's your own fault your eating a sh!t sandwich, don't blame other people your hungry.

Just what have we done wrong? Please enlighten us. If SkyWest wants to destroy ASA, I won't mourn. What the he11 am I going to do about it, and why should I care about something that is out of my control. Or should I just volunteer to fly 737's for 50-seat rates.

That attitude is going to come back to haunt you someday...

I never said they wanted to destroy ASA.

They are "our airplanes" because as you'll see above, the rumour is they are not deliveries, but current ASA airplanes going over to SKW. (And likely the ASA SLC base)

And dont give me that we should feel lucky SKW bought us, blah blah.......I didnt ask to be bought, and thus whipsawed against SKW pilots and their cheap labor rates (700's)

And please enlighten me how our sh!t sandwich is our own fault???? We have done what, now????

It's not an attitude, it's a fact. Please point out where I'm wrong.

Your attitude is that it is okay for your pilots to be happy SkyWest is denying ASA growth. You guys should watch out, after all, they may merge us someday, and you'll have to fly with those people you snickered at before...

So, you are getting all worked up over a RUMOR?

You should feel lucky that bought you. Most of the ASA crews I talk to are happy about it.

Maybe it's not your fault but don't blame other pilot groups because your eating one.

Easy does it

Melit,
I think that "our airplanes" was in reference to the possibility that some of those aircraft will be transfered from our current fleet into your fleet. This is exactly the same tactic that was used when Comair went on strike. I agree with you that anyone at ASA who thinks we "lost" those recently announced new aircraft that will be delivered to Skywest is incorrect. You cannot "lose" something you didn't have in the first place. This whole idea of "winning and losing" airplanes between Skywest and ASA is a product of management creating the mindset that we are in competition with one another. This, in and of itself, should be a HUGE warning sign for ALL of us. Skywest and ASA need to work together. Most of our management treats us like garbage, and parts of your management (although worlds better than ours-from the outside looking in) has proven they have no problem lying to you guys as well (see 70 seat rates for details).
You guys at Skywest are in a unique position with the ASA group in that we vividly remember setting up a "great relationship" with another pilot group and then being stabbed in the back by them. As a direct result of that experience I would personally rather get out of the industry than work in a pilot group that would do that to another pilot group, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone on that. We again have an opportunity to work together and make things better for ALL of us. Please, let's try hard and not screw this one up. That last one ended badly for all parties involved (except, of course, management).
Looking forward to working with you and your pilot group.
Sincerely,
Blucher:beer:

Another Winner!

It's your own fault your eating a sh!t sandwich, don't blame other people your hungry.

Hey Doofus! What the heck are you talking about? What exactly did we do to deserve that well thought out diatribe? Please enlighten us. Oh, thanks in advance for the support!

Just remember, one strike is all it takes, and SKYW's investment in ASA and their contract with Delta will flush down the toilet. Bad move if they play that hand.

If I remember correctly MELIT IS NOT A SKYWEST PILOT(ExpressJet?). He just likes to stir the $hit.

If there's a transfer of assets involved with a hub closure, I sure hope a common carrier petition would be filed. This is different from the GJ/TSA scenario in so many different ways, not to mention the two airlines share the same website (evidently that was a big deal with the GJ decision...)

It's just not right for the SLC guys, many of which were displaced from DFW, to get hosed yet again. I just hope the boys in SGU realize that.

Hey MULLIT, oh sorry, MElittle,

If the ASA crews you talk to, knew what you say on flightinfo when they talked to you in person maybe they wouldnt have something nice to say to your arrogant A$$.

How about putting a sign on your flightbag with your MELIT name on it and people can tell you how they really feel.

Jerk.

Well, its working,.. Management is effectively whipsawing us against each other, and you guys are falling for it..

Stop fighting each other... (asa vs skw) We cant control any of it..

You Guys Are All Rediculous

stop whining about my planes, your planes. who gives a sheet. Let them part out ASA...This industry is in the toilet anyway... HEY BL and SKYPEST, I have been treated sooo sheety here that I am NOT a the point of capitulation, even after those pathetically transparent and embarrassingly juvenile memo's ,but rather, exhaustion. With this crap I say shut it down even with a pay increase..just to see BL and those liars squirm.

Maybe one day I can really really really work hard and fly an 88 at american or delta for $65 bucks an hour on 5th year pay.... ooh lucky me

So ummm...not to mollify the current conversation here, but a controller told us the other day we are going back to the acy call sign. Just thought I'd pass the info on. Good day guys. Oh, by the way, ASA, Skywest, Comair, etc., we are all on the same team--all persuing similar goals in our careers--STOP EATING EACH OTHER ON THESE BOARDS. Just throwing that thought out there.

Shelton, did he say when? I thought that died with Nelson. He was the one working on that. Guess someine else picked it up.

He asked if we were excited about the name change and I asked him what he was talking about. He said they got a memo saying we were going from caa back to the old call sign on the 15th of this month.

Good, I can't wait. Always liked "Acey" better than "Candler". Easier to say too.

Maybe we will get the guilt trip memo about more airplanes going to SKW at the same time. Can't Wait!
