Unless naked sunlight was shining on something in front of the astronaut that was highly reflective...namely, the surface of the moon. When you're on a white sandy beach, even if the sun is at your back, there's still a heckova lot of light hitting the sand in front of you and being reflected back to you.BEXFlyer said:...in some of the photos, the astronauts were illuminated from the front as if they were shooting on a movie set.
