FISH ON!

Archie, you pencil neck viper geek (I love that line.)

Feel free to post the names of the SEVERAL squadrons that are looking for people. I think you have not done any research and talking out you’re a$$.

I am also willing to bet that you have never left active duty and have not done any of what you speak. I will bet you are single and have not needed to provide medical for your family. I am also willing to bet that you are a new wingman in a squadron by how easy it is to push your buttons. Who are you calling Francis, Francis?

PS. I would rather “spoon” you because I know I would be the man in our relationship.

EFFIN'A, you pointy-nosed guys sure are easy to rile up. For the rest of us, the idea remains, get to a PAYING squadron, max out your additionals/AT and you're good to go.
P.S. As a Navy guy, I am puzzled as to why you AF guys are getting into a p!ssing contest over who drives the better jet . Vipers (when did they stop calling them Falcons?) and Eagles are all lawn darts in my opinion. Take off, refuel, play, refuel, land, total time one hour. How is one more superior to the other?

If they each loose one engine the smaller one falls faster I've heard!
:D

After I left the Air Force I flew for the commuters in the Pacific Northwest and it was one of the best times of my life. The training was great and I flew 850 hours a year until my interview at the major of my choice where I am now employed. You will meet some amazing people at the commuters. Anyway, have fun whatever you do and don't listen to pencil neck viper (mini-jet) geeks!

So if you loved the commuters so much why can't you bring yourself to list it in your pofile?

:D

Aside from the "rock throwing" in previous posts, thanks for your inputs. I have a good regional job lined up starting ground school in June, and I am still rushing my local reserve squadron, and will continue to do so, until I can get a flying billet.

I do need the medical/dental benefits for my family and travel benefits are nice as well. However, if my quality of life becomes so poor later on, that I must choose between the regional job and the reserves, I will definitely take the reserves and find another way to make money on the side.

Having said that, I know of several other Navy and USAF pilots who are also going to the same regional. They all agree that the pay sucks, but at least it's flying and I think they are all planning on staying in reserves as well.

Sorry dude, not going to do your homework for you. If you're too lazy to go get your own flying job, then just keep that Home Depot job. I hear you might even make lampshade/fan manager in 2 years if you keep perfect attendance.

Wife with 2 kids. Put my papers in last Aug, got hired and started training with jetBlue in Feb, and started flying for my guard unit last month--as an IP. Sorry if seeing hard work and persistance working out for someone pisses you off......you should go hang out in the yahoo airline forum...those people are more your type.....

Don't pat yourself on the back too hard there slick...takes more than some punk like you to bother me. The only reason I'm even responding is that I was trying to help COD out--give him a different angle and you and your Blue Skies spoonie jumped on me.....maybe you should try spending some constructive time helping him out instead of insulting others who have different opinions than you do....

Archie, you seem a bit sensitive eh? Do you honestly think FD is looking for a guard/reserve job? Seems to me he has successfully "bothered" you. Yup, that "punk" got your goat and you've magnificently risen to the challenge. Too funny. Probably shouldn't have taken the viper geek bait in the first place...:D

BINGO!

I titled my posts as “FISH ON!” How much more obvious do you have to get?

I say again Archie:

Who are you calling Francis, Francis?

PS. I already have a reserve flying job. :D

both sides of the fence

As a reserve bum for several years it was a nice life style, of course back then there wasn't an option for health insurance. But that has since changed, bums have a health insurance option now so that's a bonus.

As for the Regionals (aka Commuters, I guess) I did get hired with one of them and have health insurance/travel bens etc....which aren't bad...but as with other companies out there, the bar in the Regional area for pay is going lower, which doesn't fare well for surviving off that pay especially if you have a family. As for the flight benefits, with the decrease in aircraft size, flying standby is getting to the point were it's almost better to just buy a ticket......flights are overbooked, and there doesn't seem to be any change coming in the near future......My two cents, I would jump on a chance to get a Reserve/Guard job, and after your buming, focus on finding a job with one of the semi/major airlines out there........the regionals are going in the wrong direction, but until guys stop selling themselves for very cheap wages inorder to get the experience there is no end in sight.......(Yes, I decided to try it myself, but I was able to get on with one of the top 2 regionals out there so I didn't sell my soul to the devil too bad and I really did want the health insurance which at the time wasn't available for bums........and I already had the reserve gig....)

PS Check out...

www.baseops.net

there are guard/reserve job postings on there.......
