He will just point the finger at the pilot group saying "I took a 40% paycut, but the pilots weren't willing to work with us" We will be to blame, you watch... 8

his paycut isn't EFFECTIVE until 7/15, he has NOT taken a paycut yet. and even so, one week of a paycut helps oh so much.

Yeah I am sure he will feel like a real failure with all those millions of dollars in his bank account...I know I'd feel awful with all that money...

no but executives all have one thing in common: large egos. his standing within the milwaukee boys club will take a hit.

and in terms of airline executives with money in the bank, hoeksema is in the rear. he is not a title contender like steven wolf ($2 million from republic, $45+ million from united, and $10 million from us airways).

It will be interesting to see how Obama handles the situation and how, or if, he addresses the airline industry if this happens. I was happy to see he was on a chartered MidEx aircraft, so he could get an "in your face" perspective of what is going on here, not one from a private jet from NetJets......

If they file Ch11 on July 14, does he still have to take the paycut?
Wouldn't it be nice if our pilot group encouraged the bankruptcy judge to "VOID" Hoeksema' contract as well and force him to work for cookie crumbs and soiled diapers left over by the youngster on our flights because that about all he's worth.

One can can dream, Right?

That would be sweet, but they still need a fall-guy.

Maybe they could cancel the cookie contract? That would really hurt his bottom line! Are there any cookie makers in Utah that could make them for less than Mrs. Tim?

Our Fall-Guy, we bring in Sean "Diddy" Combs and advertise like Burger King, except we charge realistic fares and the slogan will be "Fly the BEST CARE IN THE AIR, my Midwest, cause Diddy says so...." Shoot, if it works for BK, why not us?

I do not know what to tell you, as someone who has a degree in business/finance, the passenger airlines in the U.S. have more then a few problems. if the price of oil drop to seventy dollars tomorrow that would buy some time, but not very much for this nations airlines to get their act together. "this is one industry that has many problems with very few solutions and absolutely no time to fix it". what I can say is good luck to you.
