Why DOH?

Why should pilots get a seniority windfall over pilots at another company just because they've been there longer?

Doesn't it make more sense to look at each merger individually and take into consideration the demographics of each airline?

How to integration two pilot groups fairly:
a. Preserve jobs.
b. Avoid windfalls to either group at the expense of the other.
c. Maintain or improve pre-merger pay and standard of living.
d. Maintain or improve pre-merger pilot status.
e. Minimize detrimental changes to career expectations.

EVERY TWA guy I flew with at Eagle would disagree with your assessment here. Funny thing that perspective, but yes a 1987 hire on the street, but a pre staple 2000 hire not, was quite unfair.
