And the leader of one union, which represents around 225 Midwest Connect pilots, said Friday he was "disappointed" that Midwest's board spurned the $290 million buyout offer after what he considers a cursory review.
There's a big surprise... He's hoping to get his members (and himself) automatically added to the AirTran seniority list.

He might find himself out of a job if JL and the boys in MCO decide that the Midwest Connect brand, and its employees doesn't represent a good fit to the airline's plans after the acquisition and terminate their contract. Since they're not on Midwest's seniority list, they wouldn't be integrated.

Careful what you wish for...

Belmonti's comments that Midwest's board rejected the offer with little evaluation "reflect a naiveté about the process," said Carol Skornicka, Midwest senior vice president of corporate affairs. That evaluation included hiring a consulting firm and engaging the services of investment bankers, according to the company.
Hope they can convince the shareholders of the same thing...
