Every time I fly up to MKE I always am curious how Midwest is doing. I know they were Chapter 11 back some time ago, did they get out of it? Did they recall? New routes? What's been happening there... don't hear much about them.

I think they still have 75-100 pilots on furlough... Nothing much happening...

MidAir

I don't think they actually filed Ch 11, but I hear they are doing better with money in the bank. They have replaced all the DC9's with 717s and are continuing to add 717s until the end of the year I think....

Not sure about the furloughs though...

Midwest is doing much better.

1.they NEVER filed for chapter 11, but they were close to it.

2.they have more cash in the bank than ever, as a matter of fact they are paying off some debt.(just so they do not have to show a profit and pay taxes...)

3. still some on furlough, heard rumor that they will start hiring next year.
alot of the furloghees have jobs elsewhere and are not coming back.

4.they are increasing their capacity by 20 % whithin the next few days, added plenty of flights.

5. no more DC 9s left.

I know of at least one who isn't going back... and if he does he'll be getting a swift kick da' nutz from me... (and a pretty hefty pay cut...)
