I enjoy Miami air, good crews, new aircraft and some of the best flying you will ever do. Some down sides are low FO pay, no commuting (cost of living in south Florida is nuts) expensive health insurance and currently a 6yr up-grade.
Do your research the charter life isn’t for everybody I left eagle after 5yrs and I don’t regret anything.
Also look at World they have a good contract with decent pay and home basing. They do the same type of flying and the guys I know there are pretty happy.

@Kevdog: no furlough history
Better check your facts. They furloughed a whole bunch of people a few years back when they quit the 4 727 F contract they flew as Quest Cargo for Eagle.
Two friends of mine were victim of that. One got recalled a year later, the other went to another airline

I have been at Miami Air almost 10 years. It is a great company full of great people. Even the ones that piss me off I like to drink beer with. The flying is the greatest in the world. In the fall you fly all the college football teams on the weekends and military during the week.Between Thankgiving and Christmas you fly all the fans to and from all the bowl games.January is spent in Europe, usually in Bucharest, Febuary in Germany. March you get to check out all the girls from all over the USA as you fly them all to spring break. April you get to fly all the oldies to San Juan and Miami for their vacations. May things drop off to a leisurely pace so you can spend some quality time with your family. Any disaster, war, other other happening Miami Air is there. Reserve always goes senior as that is where all the best trips happen to be. ETOPS, NAT, CEP, ops are standard for generally every sequence. You can bid to fly a lot or bid to fly a little. I am senior so I bid to have 20 days on then 20 days off, my wife and kids love it. During the 20 days on usually I only fly 10 to 12 days. The FO pay is hard but it is hard everywhere, I think our new contract will either increase the FO pay or we will see the 1.5 hour to Miami rule go away. For those that don't like the sound of it stay away there are a lot of guys that love having the world as their playground. I love it, and have many good memories. BTW Falcon does have prettier FA's but they are almost out of business so maybe we will pick them up.

Any Miami Air guys still out there?
I'm looking for any current info on Miami Air. Looks like they are interviewing. I'm wondering if upgrade time is still as long as reported previously in this thread. Most info here is nearly a year old, but it was said then that upgrade time is 5 years or longer. Is that still the same? First year F/O pay still fairly low? Saw the $38/hr on the APC list, just curious if it had increased as some thought it might. How's the 3 year contract deal? Strictly enforsed? Not really? The pay , as reported, doesn't look like it increases much in the first 3 years ... The type of flying, company, & equipment sounds great, but 3 yr signing contract & maybe 5+ yr upgrade is a really big committment at my age. I guess I am hoping to hear someone from there say that pay has improved &/or upgrade potential has, or some other motivating perk. Ya know?
Thanks, AV8N4Fun

P.S. - BTW, (probably wrong place to ask such, but...) how do you, or is it possible to do a search on here for an entire phrase. Like on a google search I would put parentheses(" ") around the phrase (i.e. - "Miami Air") and it would find those two words together as a phrase. That does not seem to work here. If you do that here, you still get a search return w/ everything that has the word Miami or the word Air in it. The word air is in soooo much. Hope I explained that well enough. Any help would be appreciated sincerely.

I am in negotiations, too. I am looking to get that brand new, 2006 silver Lexus SC430 I have my eye on down at the local dealership for $12,000. He wants $72K.

I think we both have about the same chance at success. Then again, maybe mine is just a hair better.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! W/Tears

I talked to these guys at the aeroservices job fair. Seems like a decent company, if you live within about an hour of MIA. I don't and the wife has no desire to, so I declined the interview. It was stressed to me that they are not commuter friendly. If you live in southern Florida and like the ad hoc lifestyle, it might be a good fit for you, though.
