What are you talking about. We are going to get the other 25 CRJs, which will be based in MIA, and we will take over th S. America flying that AA does out of MIA. I have it from a good source here on FI.

High on morning glory seeds....................

No jet base for MIA. Many have been fantasizing about this for years.

RJ's don't work for Florida or the Bahamas within Florida.......routes too short and too much time getting jerked around at low altitudes, not to mention the limited cargo capacity.

IF LGA is hit with a small RJ ban, look for a more central location to feed Florida and the Northeast. RDU is the front runner. Eagle will likely though scrap the 37-seaters for 70-seaters, so no real net increase in aircraft, just a reschuffle with current 50-seaters and 70-seaters.

Makes you wonder why it's taking them so long to make this move. Twice the seats per plane and they wouldn't have to comb the FBOs for pilots to fly them. Maybe the CRJ needs more than 7000 feet of runway?

You know thats not a bad idea from Panama and north since most of those flights are say MIA-MPTO (panama) and back. Panama is 2:45 from Miami it seems some regionals are already doing that. Would'nt surprise me.

Apparently the American Eagle operating certificate already has approval for lots of flying deep into S. America but we obviously dont make use of it.

Actually, the executive certificate is the one which allows international flights.... NA is a flag operator working under domestic work rules.... We are planning and have been approved for flights from MIA to CUN (or maybe Cozumel, can't remember right now), on the ATR, of course.... about 3hrs.....
