Read article in USA Today, showed list of new startups that have applied or are about to apply for DOT approval. Everyone seems to be complaining about UAL or Usair not going away to free up the market. Why then is no one complaining about all these start ups? are they not creating the same problem? yes some of them or most of them may not ever get off the ground, but it still is a problem and will effect ALL AIRLINES BOTTOM LINE, even those that are making it. The problem is similar to what was happening in ORD with AMR and UAL. They cut flights becasuse of delays and the FAA , then everyones else added more flights and the problem just shifted. Let the bashing begin.

Who were awarded slots at ORD and how many? I only know of FlyI and they got ten.

The only option is to re-regulate the airlines.

Is that what we really want?

"The only option is to re-regulate the airlines".

I am sure, there are a few airlines hoping for just that!

I'm sure your right. And if they got their way they could kiss their fellow furloughed brothers and sisters goodbye. They would never be recalled or hired by another airline.

If someone wants to risk the kind of cash it takes to start an airline in this environment, let em have at it.
