I have always used a handler/service... how do you file the flight plan? Can you just give the ICAO paperwork to the guy at the FBO along with a $10 spot? Wish Fltplan.com would go Int'l!

You can use Fltplan.com. You can even use them for the eAPIS transmittal as well.

No kidding... haven't been to Mexico for awhile but I see is on there now. Does it work fine with mexico departures inbound to the US? Anyone have any issues?

Out bounds from Mexico need to be filed directly with ops at the airport if I recall.

It is possible to buy an "annual landing permit" for $555, for a specific airplane, good for multiple entries over a year. As you may know if you decide to go with a one time landing permit (about $250, as of last month)

You paid how much?!! It's only $60 US for the permits, and an annual permit costs the same as a one-time permit... Or maybe you were talking in pesos. At least that's all I ever paid; Ensenada, Cd. Obregon, Loreto, Hermosillo, La Paz.

I agree though, that sodas, beer, and other goodies from your aircraft stock go a long way toward helping things run smoothly. We've even brought Krispy Creme doughnuts several times. Good luck.
