D'Angelo is the only name that I have here on flightinfo. THose other gentleman are people with their own thoughts and views. This is not the day the middle class got flushed. Its a day that proves that America is simply sick and tired of union whining. Ideally they should repeal the RLA and eliminate the right to strike. Your still free to quit when you want just don't whine for your job back when you walk. Arbitration all the way baby! Once arbitration gets in the house bill then the transformation is complete. Sorry ALPA you got too greedy and now your paying for it. Karma sucks sometimes
D angelo, you need to step the F#$K back right now. Yea work 10% below mesa thats the way all Americans should live. What a dip $h1t! You need to come to DTW so I can push your worthless peace of $h1t a$s in to a large spinning prop and then I will light whats left on fire and maybe think about pissing on you to put out the flames. Jerk OFF!

Guys, here's a little something that makes flightinfo a little more bearable:

This message is hidden because D'Angelo is on your ignore list.

I encourage everyone to follow suit and ignore this putz.

Hey ill talk like a union guy with a simplistic view on the world. The judge obviously thought the contract costs were too high. He is helping you save your career. Thats life.... Well i guess you don't work there anymore but for everyone else that does, the judge just saved their career.

Putting the union issue aside (which is pretty much you ENTIRE life here), because of people who think like you, "I'll work for whatever management pays me.", this is not a career anymore.

Before you retort with you canned answer (you rarely offer insight...rather a large supply of canned answers), "If you don't like it, quit", why is it that you don't want to fight to keep this profession a profession?

What a crock! Well, if you have 10 days, then I would imagine that your taxi speeds will be very very slow! Safety First!

The question now is: Will a strike actually occur or will a last minute deal be struck between scumbag management and the unions negotiatied by the creditors? YPF, please share some insight of what is likely to happen as seen through your crystal ball. Thank you.

Since when is $18,0000 a year too high?
Have a little respect for some people who are actually worried about paying the bills and feeding their kids. Your mentalitly is about 30 years too late when the unions protected everyone including the lazy ass, now they try to protect workers against management criminals.

I don't want to fight because look at what happens to people who do fight. Mesaba has been trying to fight and are now on the brink of destruction. My theory is secure growth and upgrade now then live to fight another day. Sure it would be nice to make this a high paying profession but as long as there is more supply then demand its impossible. NWA could replace mesaba overnight unfortunately. My insight is ALPA needs to have some type of a vision. Picketing is a waste of time and resources. They need to first secure the futures of all the members then go from there. Large contracts are useless without job security. Job security is something we all have very little of in todays world.

That says so much about you. You must have hated the movies Braveheart or Last Samurai.

Yea being alive is better than dying for a useless cause. Sorry I put my family first my job second that is how it should be.

we just need some regionals to go away. we need to give growth to bigger commpanies like mesa, chaut, and skywest.

No D'Angelo. You've made it VERY clear you put your job first. Nice try though.

I take the paycut to save my job so I still have money to bring home for the family. Going to the unemployment line is worse on a family than having a job, therefore I put my family first. Im not in this buisness to get atta boys from other pilots while i stand in the unemployment line. Family first, live to fight another day at work

How many mouths do you have to feed in your "family" again?

just one for now however im also thinking about the future. There will be little D'Angelos to feed someday. But hey if you want to die for a useless cause thats ok. While other guys are out dying ill be here living and enjoying my life. Maybe you can catch me LIVE at the jazz cafe someday smokin a cigar still livin large and in charge on my wage. It may be reduced but its better than nothin and startin all other.

I wonder, if in the future, you'll feel like fighting for a real wage to support your kids. Or if you're still not going to fight because it's hard or it hurts.

Some income is better than no income. If it ever gets to the pointwhere its impossible to support the family then I will get a new career. At this point FO wages can still support a family. If the wife also works you can live quite comfortably. Note this doesn't include first year pay.

This is my first post, and no...I am not a pilot, just in love with one who WAS an Avro Captain. If we ignore D'Angelo and refuse to respond to his drivel, perhaps he'll have little else to say and just go away. I've been reading Flightinfo for several months, mostly to learn more about the industry so that I can keep up in conversations, and have come to the conclusion that D'Angelo annoys me the most with his self-centered, arrogant, condescending rants.

welcome to the board. Sorry to hear about your husbands/boyfriends loss. Unfortunately the company refused to talk sooner about paycuts and therefore the union caused him to lose his job.

she does have a job. Pays around the same wage that I make. I still have to bring home the money though so we can live good

Anyone else notice how nervous and uncomfortable Lizzy Costello looked during the KARE 11 interview this morning? She better head out to old 27 for a warm Diet Pepsi to clear her head.

ummm ok you have some real anger management problems. Thank god they don't give psych evals on the medicals. Typical union style though. Try to threaten violence and use intimidation tactics to keep the other unionites in line

Thanks, D...fortunately, he still has a job but now as a Saab Captain which wasn't quite the plan he had in mind. His head is still up and we're hoping for the best for everyone. The problem is that XJ is heck-bent on the 19.4% cuts but has yet to prove it's worth. It is my understanding that the union DID offer concessions but management has repeatedly failed to provide appropriate financial models and refuses to negotiate. Their "my way or the highway" mentality will get them just that...the highway to ruin. There is only so much a union can do to work WITH management. Management seems determined to drive the company into the ground and now has the judge's ruling behind them. Unions are not perfect but they are not single-handedly responsible for the problems facing all airlines now...management must be held accountable for their practices as well. Off my soap-box and back to work...

The creditors commitee should step in at some point and provide exit finacing without the 8% margin. Watch what happens at NWA on monday to gauge what will happen with mesaba. It is likely NWa will impose some agreed to contract by the AFA without memebership vote.

Thanks for recommending the ignore list. What a F**king D**chebag!

Just like Karma eventually catches up to the likes of Ken Lay and Patsy Ramsey, lets hope it makes its way to D'Angelo and the management team.

Karma is catching upto ALPA now. Their endless hunger for greed, power and other things is catching up to them. All the contracts they held hard working companies for are falling apart. They took too many eggs from the golden goose now its their turn to give some back

Thanks for the insight YPF. You truly are a pilot's friend. Anyways, I still think there will be a deal cut without a strike. 10-12% paycuts with the rest made up in QOL areas. Hopefully the end to this b.s. will be in the near future. I hope.
