oh, one more thing, about Compass? whats the deal, do they have anything other than a few senior leadership core? How is this company going to spool up? where are their offices? where is their training dept? where are their pilots.....are they NWA pilots.....it seems to me that they do not want to work there for those rates....which by the way, is better then at XJ which i am making now.......how is that going to be more profitable for NWA?

Compass will be hiring soon. NWA pilots aren't allowed to work for Compass unless they're in a furlough status...and it looks like we won't have any furloughed pilots by the Summer.

The rates were set by the NWA MEC as part of the deal we worked out to provide for our furloughed pilots. The rates at MSA are set by your negotiations.

If Compass is profitable it will be because they won't have a MAIR, Inc skimming $$. NWA will pay them a service rate (a flat block hour rate that includes performance bonuses and penalties) and Compass will have to figure out how to make a profit. If the employee's wages are higher there, they might have to (gasp!) pay their management dorks less money!

Mercy!

P.S. I was walking in MSP yesterday and didn't see anybody bite you!!

I did get a sweaty hug from an enthusiastic SEIU "brother" though!

(And an Eagle guy rubbed my head for luck)

20-minutes into it I realized that second cup of coffee might have been a mistake...

There is no way possible for either PCL or NWA to take up the slack on a Mesaba strike. (not that we would anyway) This is the part that is really crazy. Northwest management is fully aware of this fact....a complete collapse in a percentage of feed to mainline, and they still don't care.

I hope it turns over on appeal (as it should), and the pilots are released for self help. God help Mesaba management and Northwest with the outcome. Both SLT's are playing with fire. It's like Russian roulette for everyone on the property. Absolutely stupid.
