Good luck guys,

There are a lot of pilots out there that fully support what you are doing.

Struck Work?

Just curious if your MEC has started putting the word out about not flying struck work if it comes down to that. I've heard some pretty disturbing reports (through the grapevine  ) of some Pinnacle pilots saying they will fly whatever they're asked to fly by management, even if it was a route previously flown by Mesaba. Their reasoning is Mesaba doesn't technically "own" any of the routes so it can't be considered struck work. I haven't had the chance to talk to any of you guys myself but would like some insight from those that frequent this board if you wouldn't mind.

We define what struck work is, and it's up to individual MECs to accept.
This should answer your questions. Straight from our MEC!

The Mesaba MEC requests that the Northwest MEC continue to demonstrate their support for the Mesaba pilots in the event of a strike by refraining from performing any flying that represents:

1. A change of gauge to larger aircraft on any city pair served by Mesaba as reflected by the December 2003 OAG schedule,

2. An increase in frequency on any city pair normally flown by both Northwest and Mesaba as reflected by the December 2003 OAG schedule,

3. An addition of routes between city pairs normally flown by Mesaba and not normally flown by Northwest as reflected by the December 2003 OAG schedule,

4. An addition of routes, or an increase in gauge or frequency that reflects hub substitution based upon the December 2003 OAG schedule. For example, Mesaba and Northwest both currently fly between MSP and RST (and RST is not served by any other Northwest hub). Northwest would not establish a new route between RST and any other hub (MEM or DTW), and/or if Northwest did previously serve RST from another hub, there would not be an increase in the size of the aircraft serving RST from any other hub, or increase the frequency of service from any other hub.

The Northwest MEC waived their standard policy of not determining in advance whether Northwest pilots would support a striking employee group and instead approved our definition of struck work by acclamation in their MEC meeting also held this week. As the Pinnacle MEC was not in session this week, we have not yet drafted a resolution for the Pinnacle pilots. We have however been in constant communication with our fellow Airlink partners and we look forward to working with them to protect all of our careers.

BUMP

Thanks to all of the folks offering support, we appreciate the thoughts very much.

It should also be noted what the code share partners do. Example. Look at CVG to CLE and EWR. COEX used to fly a ton of routes but now they are mostly flown by comair or another Delta color.

Since CAL and Delta are code sharing we need to make sure that none of the other carriers' "feeders" pick up any of that flying.

Hi S.O.

We appreciate your support!

No matter what the Avro announcement will be or what our future is, those decisions have been made. The only thing we have any control over is what we can legally do on Jan. 10. If the company refuses to acknowledge the contribution we have made to profits for Mesaba and does not offer a fair contract then we, as a group, will do what we have to do.

I think I'm safe in saying that none of us wants to be a martyr for pilot groups everywhere but we definitely don't want to be known as sell-outs.

Yesterday, we had a Mesa jumpseater come on board and the form had a note by their name that said, "NOT FREEDOM AIRLINES" and this person made it clear that they had voted no on the contract.

It's sad when a professional pilot feels like they have to separate themselves from their own pilot group to be recognized as a professional. It's worse when pilots accept managements version of what a pilot is worth and then there is the absolute lowest life form of a "pilot" which is better known as the "Scab". Those that take jobs from pilots who are fighting to improve the standards of the entire group.

The vast majority(at least 98%) of XJ pilots care about our profession, our jobs and our future and will refuse to be sell-outs. We don't want the label or the reputation.

Guys and gals at Mesaba

The best of luck to you in the coming weeks
and I hope that you get what you have
worked to get.

I don't know what a Corpex junkstream
driver can do for you, but if there is any
thing I can do, PM me and I'll try.

Godspeed and good luck!

To all Mesaba pilots.

Thanks to all you guys and gals that are fighting for pilots of today and of the future. I am one of those hopeful future pilots and I appreciate all the efforts that are being made so someday I may make more when I start at a regional than the guy serving burgers at Macdonld's does. So hang in there and know that what you are doing isn't going unnoticed.

First off, happy holidays, don't overthink this.. It will work out. Secondly, IF push comes to shove, is there an address for strike support funds to be sent??!

Just wanted to let you all know,
Your Flight Attendants support you 100%, as well
Is there anything we can do to help? Just say the word...

I thought bump was a form of stimulant.
