Mesaba Strike Deadline

Serious question here for Pinnacle.......not flamebait.

Just curious if your MEC has started putting the word out about not flying struck work if it comes down to that. I've heard some pretty disturbing reports (through the grapevine ) of some Pinnacle pilots saying they will fly whatever they're asked to fly by management, even if it was a route previously flown by Mesaba. Their reasoning is Mesaba doesn't technically "own" any of the routes so it can't be considered struck work. I haven't had the chance to talk to any of you guys myself but would like some insight from those that frequent this board if you wouldn't mind.

I can't believe that you would stoop to repeating such an ignorant, unsubstantiated rumor. It does you little good to take cheap shots at the people who can help you most. Grow up.

You find nothing offensive about inferring that our pilots will cross your picket line? Rumors like this (probably just made up with zero factual backing) serve to do nothing but open old wounds between our pilot groups. Your strike situation is not a lighthearted matter and should it play out for an extended period of time it will drastically affect all three of the NW pilot groups. I live among Pinnacle pilots every day and there is nothing but support for you and your cause. Unless Saabslime can identify a reliable source, and name names, I find it very offensive that he bring up slanderous rumors that smear Pinnacle pilot's reputations.

Our MEC is working with your MEC on strictly defining struck work. I have not heard of anyone making such a bold and assenine statement. I hope that no pilot would be stupid enough to break this line.....

This PCL pilot will happily walk the line with you guys.

You guys at Mesaba have nothing to worry about regarding Pinnacle flying "struck work". We have guys trying to get cards made with phone numbers for us to call if we believe a flight may be considered "struck work". And we also have a couple guys designing a flight bag sticker that supports Mesaba pilots. I think it says something like "Pinnacle Pilots supports Mesaba Pilots Jan 10th 12:01". Trust me, we ALL are looking to help you guys out, we are going to be their next victim in just over a year when our contract is up in May 2005.

Thanks to all the pilot groups that support us. It helps to relieve some of the anxiety and stress when we hear the positive comments from all of you.

That's great guys, appreciate the support. I still don't think saabslimes post was meant to "offend," it seemed to me he was pretty cautious about how he worded it. Oh well. You guys wouldn't beleive the rumors flying around though, and your right, none of them are necessarily "solid," they all involve talking to guys while jumpseating or vice versa. In the end, I think that everything will work out fine...

Sorry....just in a pissed off rage today dealing with the company to try to get my pay records fixed. Talking about others crossing your picket line are EXTREAMLY big words though and need to have fact behind them before they are uttered.

I, too, would like to say thanks for those that are rallying behind us. We have a management team that thinks our pilot group is nothing more than misfits and second rate, and their pay proposals prove it. Mesaba pilots take heart when they hear that others out there are supporting us. Thank you all.

If you would take a vote at pinnacle I think you would find 98% of us support Mesaba (the 2% are the a$$holes, that are pro management)

I attended our last LEC meeting in MSP on Nov. 19th. Wychor was in the office that day and after we conducted some of our business, he gave us a tour of the strike center. The XJ MEC has the ability to track aircraft movements on the airport. They have a call center set up to handle calls from the media, etc. They also have PC's set up with flight tracking software to track all Redtail flights(including Big Sky). The idea is to have a representative from NW and Pinnacle present to handle any struck route or flying questions that arise. Hopefully these measures will preclude any chances of a struck route being operated by NW or Pinnacle. Give 'em hell and good luck.
