So, I am talking to my mother on the phone this morning, telling her that if this TA at XJ passes, I will probably be recalled sometime after Christmas, when the doorbell rings. The big FedEx van is outside and on my porch I find an envelope. Only one thing that could be...yep, recalled as of 11/7. Anyone else get this today? What to do, what to do...

That's correct. The FedEx trucks are beginning to arrive. Got a call from a friend today who got the recall. DTW Chief Pilot expects half of those recalled to pass it up.

.....

It is a strange thing that people are getting recalled when in less than a month the Avros are going away and we are only going to need 410 pilots or so. Looks like management thinks that this TA is going to pass. The sky is falling...

Which Saabs had the NxxxPX tail numbers, if figured it was an old "A" model or an ex Express One Saab? Because, not kidding, I saw one parked on the ramp in Gudalajara about two weeks ago. I believe AeroLitoral (Aero Mexico's express carrier) bought it b/c they use saabs and erjs.

Th PX saabs are the straight B'S we received from pinnacle. Most of our A's had the XJ designation.

Funny how things are shaping up. I can believe the recalls because I usually get 2 to 3 JR. man calls a week. They are so short right now they are cancelling flights due to no FOs. I had hoped that all the furloughs have moved on to better places.

Yeah!?!? What gives!?! I'm starting to suffer from Pilot Optimal Organization Priority Syndrome. Does Mesaba give anyone else the P.O.O.P.s?

9E to XJ

So how many are going to switch from 9E o XJ since they are probably going to get a lot of CRJ's?

I'm thinking only half passing would be very optimistic

You're probably right. Of the friends I know who were furloughed have moved on and aren't planning on returning to XJ. I don't blame them. But I also would like to know how many recall letters were sent out?

What a way of retraining the whole pilot group for pennies on the dollar.

Lastest rumor from a friend who received a recall letter. He also got a call from an MSP CP asking him if he had reveived the recall letter. He told him that Northwest was giving Mesaba extra holiday flying and they need about 20 guys or so to cover that flying since they are already short staffed. He asked him if he would get furloughed again after the holiday season slowed and the CP's response was he didn't know.
So, take it with a grain of salt. Although with current attrition, and the possibility of more airplanes, I can't see them furloughing again. But what do I know.

Got a fedex today... I am early 2001 DOH and a voluntary furlough. Planning on bypassing as long as I can 'cause I have a good gig going right now overseas.
