How about this:

Vote on the TA.........a big fat NO!
;)

(just to be clear)

This isn't good at all, don't start getting hostile already. I will vote no.

While we are on the topic though, how much should we Mesaba pilots risk in order to get better rates for an aircraft which we do not have? I personally feel the rates for the saab are great, and that is what the majority of our fleet is right now. For the sake of argument, should we turn down the next TA if it doesn't have 200+ seat jets rates that aren't comparable to Delta?

After reading the replies from some Mesaba pilots, I having nothing but 100% respect, and have no doubt that you will indeed hold the line. You guys are truly a class act!

Not trying to stir the pot here but I'm curious how the TA compares to Pinnacles current contract. How does Pinnacles contract compare to Comair or Air Wis?Not flaming here, I really am just curious. On another note, I really hope Mesaba votes down the TA, you guys put up with way too much to settle for that piece of sh*t!

Pinnacle's contract is not very good at all. It's not nearly as good as Comair or Air Wisconsin. It was signed back in 1997. And you can bet that we WILL get a fair contract in 2005.

I will be voting no. I hope to be able to do my job without being embarassed about a contract that fails to improve my profession. The job isn't worth that sacrifice.

The best thing we can do is vote no and go back to the table.

Disappointed but hopeful.

The Pinnacle contract was ratified in May '99, not '97.

Just a question, I heard there were no Pinnacle guys present at the picketing in MEM. I don't know if it's true or not. Haven't heard anything about anywhere else. Anyone know more?

Fly safe and fly the.....contract???

PS- FedEx pilots ROCK!

Sorry Pinnacle Brothers but..........

We did not have any pinnacle pilots picketing in MEM on the night of Jan 9th. We had more Fed Ex guys and Northwest guys with us than we could handle.

DTW did not have any Pinnacle guys either on the night of the 9th.

MSP did not have any Pinnacle picketers either. They did have two guys working in the strike center though.

We need your verbal support, but actions also speak louder than words.

Vote No. Yet, be prepared for dissapointment. Some pilots tend to fold like paper. Enforce whatever contract you get to the max.

Fellow Mesaba pilots, just for the record, this post was started by a guy who sent me a PM a few months ago after I responded to a strange jumpseating thread he had started. "I know people at Mesaba, and I know who you are..." Real nice, can't say that I weigh his opinion very heavily. But that is just my thoughts toward him, not his fellow workers.

I don't have anything against Mesaba pilots.

I have something against you for being a wise-a.ss several months ago when I was trying to get some basic jumpseat info.

If I remember correctly, your comments were something like "Why don't you read the ALPA board... typical Pinnacle dipshi.t...." In fact, you pissed me off so much I remember those were your exact words.

You were being hostile towards me for no reason whatsoever. I was asking a simple question. So don't get on here and try to lie to your fellow Mesaba pilots about your previous actions.

Simon says - Please get your facts straight. DTW asked PCL NOT to picket with you on the night of the 9th because of the limited number permits. However you asked for 7 PCL guys to be at the DTW strike center that evening to cover so MSA guys could go to the rally. 7 PCL guys were there at the strike center for you. In Minneapolis, MSA asked for 4 picketers and you got 4 plus the guys in the strike center. You are correct about Memphis not having any picketers. Not something we are proud of. Lets chalk it up to a failure of leaderhip by the local MEM council which I am told has been thoughly addressed. Do not chalk Memphis up to the PCL pilot group as a whole.

If you guys vote to not ratify the TA, PCL pilots will be there to support you. If you vote to ratify it, I think the group will have some questions, but will support you in the end. Vote for what you think is right and don't turn back. There are risks to both. However, 7 years is a long time so be willing to live it if you vote yes.

For my fellow Pinnacle folks - let these guys make their descision. It is their contract that they will have to live under and their risks that they will have to take if they vote no. Voting no and walking the line without pay is no small thing - ask any Comair guy that was walking the line the entire 89 days.

Also, we are not dependent on what Mesaba or any other airline does for our next contract. We and we alone are responsible for how we do in our next go-around. If Comair was dependent on everyone else then they would never have gotten the contract they fought so hard to acheive. We are in a good position. We will have a lot of pilots on the roster and we are making money hand over fist. Our management wants to bid on more planes and they will need us to have a contract in place to get their costs in line. If we stick together we will have the leading or among the top 3 contracts for 50 seat small jet carriers. Enough said.
