agreement and disagreement

This is a direct response to xjdriver......i agree with your info in regards to the new hiring but your opinions on the second half of your message is lacking any thought or knowledge on the workings of a big business. It is not that poeple , new pilots, are quiting earlier than expected that companies like Pinnicle are not paying during training, it is because they can get away with it and make a bunch more money at the expense of a frew desperate pilots. The coming of an upswing of hiring in the 90's and union contracts getting stronger that stopped that. A few pilots quiting for better pay is industry norm just like most industries and as for the guy spocks beard, do you think the company had his welfare or anyother pilots welfare in mind when they threatened furlough? And to remind you of the managements bonuses after 911 even though they furloughed 1st officers(i am sure their combined two years salary would not equal the senior managements bonuses at that time!) but xjdriver, i am sure when you were furloughed, your firsat thoughts were "what can i do for the company now" If spocks beard thought he could earn a living at another airline and thought his job security was better, then hey! more power to the guy! That is capitolism at its best.....competition for the better work force. What the airlines like pinnicle are doing is a race for the worst workforce buy hiring gulfstream pilots that pay thousands of dollars for a job and probably still think they will be 747 captains in just a few years.....now...for my disclaimer....if you are a gulfstream pilot that has worked your but off, and does not have daddy's wallet paying for everything....work hard and you'll be rewarded....and hey...if you all get a chance to work at Mesaba...i think the people thaat work their are the best and it is a great place to work and it will only get better! people just need to realise that bumps do happen and think that regionals are going to be careers for many of us.....no matter what some of the younger pilots think!

Anyone Else Interviewed Lately??

Just wondering if there's anyone else out there who's interviewed at Mesaba within the last week and a half.

I'd like to talk to anyone else who has recently. You can PM me if you want.

Here's the info as I know it. There are job postings for F/O's in the XJ crew ops area. Minimums are 1000/100. The company claims that the hiring of F/O's (they can interview all they want) is only for the purpose of filling voids left by increasing our min days off from 10 to 11 in the TA. One of our MEC leaders told me that several applicants/interviewees have already received offers of employment contingent on the passing of the TA. I have no idea how many they will hire if the TA passes. Any rumors of new jets on the property is clearly speculation. TA changes for new hires:

Pay goes from approx. $18.21 to 23.08/hr.

Uniforms allowance $225/yr. paid to pilots at the end of the calendar year. New hires will pay $25 per pay period for the initial cost of the new uniforms.
