The fed who listened in on meeting with said FO and company even said that firing was extreme. Nothing outrageous even remotely happened.

Where did you hear that? I have a hard time believing our FSDO would say drinking under 12 hours and getting fired was "extreme." Is drinking under 12 hours, a rule we all know well, not "outrageous" enough for you?

For one thing, the F/O was on probation. It would have been extreme for him NOT to get fired.
