I would bet that NW is looking for some way to dissolve their responsibility of a flow back in the event of a mainline furlough. I cant imagine that 200+ training cycles to accommodate NW furloughees on the E175 is very cheap.
There is wordage that prevents the sale of Compass until certain requirements are met to protect from that. Thats why the flowthrough/back is good because it makes it tougher for mgmt to just furlough at the whim anymore because of the added cost. We shall see.
