By the way, Mesaba2425:

I don't know which approach to take, since you are too much of a **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** to explain yourself to anyone here.
Hmmmmm I didn't realize the board censored MORON. Oh, wait, it doesn't. I wonder what word he chose instead of moron....

Congrats mesaba guys, don't worry about people on this level of 2425 because eagles always soar above bugs that don't even fly well.
And thanks to raise the bar.

GOD bless you

Congrats!!!

Great job holding the line and not backing down. All the best and I hope my MEC(MAG) takes note and will have the B@lls next time!!:) :D

I agree with the sentiment, but is this the gayest thing you've ever read on FlightInfo?

Per the NWAC pilot contract the AVRO can only be replaced by a 44 seat or less aircraft. So, when the AVRO goes so does the ability for any of NWAC's feeders to fly aircraft larger than 44 seats.

NWAC and other majors want their regionals flying larger than 44 seat aircraft. If NWA Management lets the AVRO disappear they just lost a scope battle.

really?

Boy. That sucks. If that is the case, Pinnacle will have to get rid of all of their 50-seater CRJs then.

Actually, they way I read the NWA ALPA contract, IF the Avro goes away then NWA can add 36 more (one for one) RJs, which by the NWA ALPA definintion can seat up to 55. This 36 would not be subject to the Narrow-Body fleet size limits as other portions of the RJ fleet at the Airlink carriers are.

IF the Avro fleet goes away, then NWA loses any presence in the 70 seat arena, until or unless, they secure scope relief from thier pilots. How much it will cost them, and NWA's willingness to pay those costs remain up in the air, but I suspect the cost will be high.

unfortunately.. the Avro can be replaced by the 50 seater.. Personally I think the AVvor is MUCH more comfortable that the 50 seater.

We have been told we are getting a few more 50's.. I "assume" and it is ONLY an assumption the few more we are getting is from the retirement of the 5 Avro's...

Actually I think we are only getting 3 more 50's..

I still think RJ's are in Mesaba's future.. what else is our management and NWA going to have in 18 months to use agins the Pinnacle pilots?

One battle one and many more to go to make regional pilots life a little better..

Actually it won't be from just 5 parked avro's...our management has told NWAC that they want ALL the avro's or none at all. Only time will tell. It sure seems fishy that they keep extending the AVRO decision. I think that if NWAC wanted the AVRO gone it would have been parked back in october. Just my 2 cents.

It was like waiting for a baby to be born! But after the slugfest was over it was obvious the teh XJ group has balls as big as church bells!

Press on XJ!:D

It was obvious that management wanted this settled too.
If it was so certain that the AVRO was leaving then they would have made that announcement on Dec. 15.
Take a look at our state of the art dispatch facility and new hanger....not to run 50 SAABs boys. Anyone can see the obvious.
Management asked for the proffer for a reason....NWA has plans and it is not to shrink us...or PNCL. We will grow together.
Just wish the whipsaw game would not happen.

I agree. I would think that if it's an awesome deal, a few would have posted the details by now.

Now I know you’re a true idiot! You don’t even know how this process works. I’m an XJ line pilot, put in much time at the strike center, and I haven’t seen anything.

DC-9-10 = 78 Seats

You are right, I did not consider the -10s. I looked and the NWA investor relations website shows 8 DC9-10s in the fleet.

I would argue that while 8 -10s does give them some presence, it is not much of one, and it is not cost competetive compared to XJ, CMR, ASA, or any other 'express' carrier.

Either way, thanks for bringing my oversight to my attention.

Why do you have to rely on someone else to provide safety for your family? And why would you want to?
Gee, let me think about that one. Pilots are on the front line every day. We strap ourselves to the front of the airplane, and are faced with FAA scrutiny at every step. We are also the first at the scene of any accident.

Yet when pilots bring safety matters to the attention of the company or the FAA, the canned response is "if it's legal, it must be safe." It took a fatal accident at Little Rock for the FAA to get off their a$$ and interpret crew rest regulations that were ALREADY IN PLACE!

So no one else cares more about safety than the pilots, but we can't get anyone to listen to us by ourselves. Hence the need to have an organized representative on our behalf.
