Mesa stock down last 2 days totalling 36% @ $1.47. Investors are bailing. I wonder how long it will be before they are de-listed? They are circling the bowl.

You are right...

Mesa is circling the bowl and it will take a miracle to make it through the year. I think if people are waiting and hoping for Mesa to be bought out - why would anybody want to purchase this train wreck and all of it's liabilities? Why not just wait to pick and choose from the assets after the crash?

They have been putting a HUGE emphasis on making completion factor and A-14 goals all year. Surely they know that codeshare partners are looking for the slightest excuse to cut RJ capacity.

Mr Ego! JO should be very proud of himself.

I honestly think Mesa will be more profitable if they shrink. Mesa has outgrown its capabilities. With less attrition (nobody hiring) and less airframes, they might actually be able to finally staff the airline.

Even if Mesa sold off assets, who the hell would want to buy any of its 50 seaters? The greatest value to Mesa was the DCI flying (mostly gone) and its 900 flying.

I think the same thing. SkyWest will scoop up what is left of Mesa and use them as an in with USAirways/AmWest and give ASA the Delta/UA portions.

I predict that Mesa will shrink to become an inter-island carrier with a very small amount of flying in the mainland, if any.

JO knows that his rep sucks in the US, and he'll rarely win a contest for more flying, so his continuing efforts to monopolize the Hawaiian market is his only chance for survival.

Right before Delta went into BK there stock was in the $1.30 range also...........

Great point. If MAG were to file Chapter 11, I don't think Chapter 7 would be that far behind. When DAL, UAL file for Chapter 11, they re-organize but there is still a steady stream of income. They reorganize to become more lean. Could Mesa do that? Delta just kicked them out of the DCI portfolio, their cash stream is getting pinched. You could say they'll sell airframes, but how many do they own and are there any buyers for 50 seat aircraft? They'll still have their other Contracts, but will it be enough to meet their costs? I would think investors would want to get theres in a fire sale before they'd agree to invest more.

What Mesa owns...

I think that Mesa only owns some or all of the the Beech 1900s, and the rest are leased.

Mesa did not lose ALL of their Delta flying...they still have the 900s in JFK...for now.

I forgot about the 900 flying, thanx for the correction.

Mesa has $238 million in cash liabilities over the next 10 months (excluding possible awards in the Aloha lawsuit). Thats roughly equivalent to their current cash balance. They are currently a break even to unprofitable operation so there isn't cash coming in. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where this is going.

YEP!!! you are right the only diference is that the CEO of DL is not a loooooser!!!

MESA is not going away.

...hopefully not too soon. I want it dragged out as long and as painfully as possible.

6 months would be perfect!
